Job Summary
Job Description
The Staff QA SW Engineer will be responsible for testing Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including IPv4/IPv6 routing protocols, security testing, and Layer 2 protocols. The engineer will evaluate and develop test tools, analyze third-party vendors and technologies, and work closely with design engineers and marketing. The role requires strong Python programming and automation experience. The engineer will translate feature requirements into test cases and test automation. The position requires expertise in data networking concepts and product verification methodologies, with experience using test tools and scripting languages. Excellent communication skills are also essential.
Must have:
- Strong proficiency in testing routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.).
- Experience in security testing, IPSEC, VPN, and Firewall Testing.
- Strong Python programming and automation experience.
- Working knowledge of L2 protocols (STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1q/ad/aq, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Layer3 Protocols – IPv4/IPv6, OSPFv2/v3, ISIS, BGP4.
Good to have:
- Exposure to VxLAN, L2VPN (Pseudowire, VPLS) and L3VPN (BGP/MPLS VPN) technologies.
- Experience in performance and throughput testing.
- Experience in working with test tools like Ixia, Smartbits, STC and packet sniffers.
- Experience in scripting languages like Perl, Tcl and Tk.
- Experience in test case management tools like qTest.

Must be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in testing one or more of the following areas:
• IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRRP, PIM, MPLS, RSVP, etc. • Security Testing, IPSEC ,VPN, Firewall Testing • Kubernate, Docket will be added and have multiple positions. • Layer 2 protocols such as Spanning Tree, Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP) 802.1w, VLANs, LACP, VSRP, etc • Experience in performing platform qualification tests on new products. • Good experience in Python or equivalent scripting language is an added advantage. • In this role Test engineer will be asked to evaluate/develop new test tools , analyze third party vendors and technologies • Strong python programming and automation experience is a requirement. • Exposure to system test automation is highly desired. • Must be able to work closely with design engineers, marketing, and other test engineers. It is important for the candidate to be able to understand feature requirements and translate to test cases and test automation.
