The company seeks a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of Flexera Software's premier FlexNet Operations product. Responsibilities include design, implementation, and testing of product features, problem-solving, guiding team members, understanding existing architecture, and learning new technologies. The role involves developing new product features, enhancing existing ones, debugging customer issues, refactoring for performance and scalability, establishing CI-CD pipelines, enabling AWS cloud deployment, making build/buy decisions, applying object-oriented design principles, collaborating with other teams, handling customer escalations, improving team processes, and mentoring junior members. The position also requires contributing to design and code reviews and writing unit tests.
Must have:
  • 14+ years of software development experience
  • Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript
  • Proficiency in RDBMS and SQL queries
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience with working in remote teams
  • Mentoring and motivating junior team members
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Write unit tests for code
Good to have:
  • Ability to talk to sales prospects about product features

Seeking a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to contribute towards the development of Flexera Software’s premier FlexNet Operations product. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and testing of the product features. Should be an excellent team member with good attitude towards problem solving and help/guide team members when needed. Should have attitude to embrace new challenges. Should be a quick learner who can understand the existing architecture and design of the modules, independently. Should have good communication skills. Should be flexible to learn new technologies and contribute in different areas of product and software engineering cycle as needed.

Candidates Profile:

  • B.E/B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
  • 14 Plus years of software development experience.
  • Should have expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Java Script, RDBMS, SQL queries.
  • Should be able to talk to sales prospects regarding questions on product features that require Engineering expertise to answer.
  • Development of new product features and enhancement, including requirement analysis, design, coding, reviews and unit testing.
  • Investigation, debugging and resolution of customer issues via fixes or workarounds.
  • Helping with triaging customer issues and performing story point estimations on them for improved prioritization of the product backlog.
  • Helping refactor areas of the product to improve performance, scalability and reliability
  • Should be able to work in a fully agile team to deliver on all responsibilities
  • Establishing and enhancing CI-CD pipelines
  • Enabling existing and new product features to run from the AWS cloud and leverage solutions offered by AWS.
  • Make build / buy decisions for components needed to the product.
  • Apply good Object-oriented design practices and principles in implementation of the product.
  • Collaboration with other teams such as Product Management. quality assurance, database administrators, documentation engineers, support teams and customer success teams for effective delivery of product.
  • Effective handling and follow up of different customer escalations.
  • Work to identify weaknesses with existing team processes and to strive to improve them.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently within and between teams
  • Experience with working in remote teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Mentoring and motivating junior members of the team in finishing their tasks
  • Participate and contribute to various design and code reviews within the team.
  • Promote and write unit tests for all code newly written and incrementally add unit tests to old code.
  • Engage on conversations with Product Management and Support engineers (and/or customers) regarding various new product features and bugs.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Design and development of product features: Design and development of product features that results in realization of the product roadmap.
  • Analysis and resolution of customer bugs: Analyse and Triage customer issues, debug and fix these issues, provide workarounds and solutions for these.
  • Improve Security, Performance, Scalability and Reliability of the product: Systematically analyse deficiencies in the product with respect to performance, scalability and reliability and work on solutions to improve them
