The Strategy & Execution Director / Sr. Manager for Field Engineering EMEA at Databricks is a high-visibility individual contributor role, reporting to the Senior Director, EMEA Strategy & Execution. This role acts as the primary business partner to the VP Field Engineering, focusing on assessing performance, managing resourcing, and coordinating reporting. Responsibilities also include managing end-to-end EMEA business cadences like pipeline reviews and product adoption analysis, driving strategic initiatives, and refining operational processes to accelerate growth and scale the Field Engineering team.
Must Have:
  • Partner with Field Engineering leadership to develop strategy

The Strategy & Operations organisation is the in-house dedicated team that supports the GTM and cross-functional teams within Databricks. This team embeds within the business as true partners, working directly with the “client team” on a mixture of strategic and operational issues.

As the Strategy and Execution Director / Sr. Manager for Field Engineering EMEA, you will report into the Senior Director, EMEA Strategy & Execution. You will be the primary business partner to the VP Field Engineering and act as their go-to-person to help them run their business: assess performance, manage resourcing and coordinate reporting. Additionally, your responsibilities will include end to end EMEA business cadences (e.g., pipeline reviews, product adoption analysis, etc.)

This is a unique opportunity. This is a high visibility role in a fast-growing region, with many opportunities for growth. You will focus on different priorities as the team grows and scales. This is currently an Individual Contributor role but will expect significant leadership opportunities across the Strategy and Execution teams along with partnering groups. The role will be expected to be based in London.

The impact you will have:

  • Partner with the Field Engineering leadership team in EMEA to develop our strategy, becoming a necessary part and a trusted advisor to the EMEA GTM leadership team.
  • Help run the EMEA business, own important processes like business reviews and planning, and establish and shape the way we work, through running the operational rhythm of business, metrics and OKRs.
  • Drive the business forward by executing initiatives to accelerate growth and land programs to scale.
  • Analyse and review the business - generating insights that identify where and how leadership should spend time.
  • Identify opportunities to refine existing processes, and help guide up the effectiveness of the Field Engineering team.
  • Partner with other supporting functions - including HQ Planning, Sales Operations, Finance and Recruiting - to run joint reviews and planning.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working in strategy and operations, sales operations, or consulting roles.
  • Experience working with executives in an advisor role, and building and managing teams.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and synthesise into actionable business insights.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with effective time-management and prioritisation skills.
  • Knowledge of Cloud or SaaS business.
  • Experience leading cross-functional operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to manage executive stakeholders and communicate with the Technical Management team.
