Job Summary

Nurun is seeking a proactive and meticulous SysOps Specialist to manage and optimize infrastructure for smooth operations and digital initiatives. The role involves ensuring high availability, security, and performance of systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in an on-call support rotation to deliver reliable digital solutions.

Must Have

  • Manage infrastructure as code.
  • Maintain optimal performance and availability of workloads and network.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Implement and oversee monitoring tools for proactive issue identification.
  • Ensure system security measures and compliance with data protection (e.g., GDPR).
  • Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation.
  • Develop and use scripts (Bash, Python) for task automation.
  • Collaborate with development teams on infrastructure and deployment automation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and processes.
  • Generate regular reports on system health and incident resolution.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar SysOps role.
  • Proficiency in Linux server management and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong command of Kubernetes, containers, and databases.
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

  • Cloud platform certification (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and meticulous SysOps specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and support our digital initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high availability, security, and performance of our systems. You will be part of an on-call support rotation, supporting our mission to deliver reliable digital solutions.

Responsibilities

System Administration

  • Manage infrastructure as code.
  • Maintain workloads and network to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain the security and efficiency of the environment.

Monitoring and Performance Optimization

  • Implement and oversee monitoring tools to proactively identify system issues and optimize performance.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and implement solutions to improve system efficiency and reliability.

Security and Compliance

  • Ensure the implementation of system security measures, regularly update security protocols, and monitor potential threats.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection standards and regulations, such as GDPR.

Incident Management and Support

  • Respond to and quickly resolve infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
  • Provide support and guidance to internal teams regarding system usage and troubleshooting common issues.
  • Participate in the on-call support rotation.

Automation and Scripting

  • Develop and use scripts to automate repetitive tasks, thereby improving system management efficiency and reducing complex tasks.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement automation in deployment and operational processes.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of configurations, runbooks, processes, and system changes.
  • Generate regular reports on system health, uptime, and incident resolution for management review.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with development teams to support the infrastructure needs of development and deployment projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing changes to processes and standards.

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Linux server management, with experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), certification in these areas being an asset.
  • Strong command of fundamental infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, containers, and databases.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and system security best practices.
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible), automation tools, scripting languages (Bash, Python), and version control (Git, BitBucket).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, BitBucket Pipelines, or others).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to system management.
  • Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
