Job Summary

As a System Engineer at Valeo, you will contribute to the business development plan, review internal and client requirements, and ensure robust design and validation within economic objectives. You will support technical architecture and standardization, adhering to design rules and assisting with simulations, coding, validation, calculations, and testing. The role requires an engineering degree or equivalent master's, initial experience as a system engineer, familiarity with the V-cycle, and proficiency in a requirements management tool. Fluent English is essential, and knowledge of power electronics/electrotechnics is a plus.

Must Have

The Valeo Site based in Étaples-sur-Mer (62) is a Research & Development center and a production site. It brings together 1,200 employees around the design and manufacture of propulsion systems (Alternator, Inverter, etc.).

We are recruiting a System Engineer.

Your missions:

Contributor to:

  • Carry out activities in accordance with the business development plan of your PG/PL;
  • Review internal requirements, client requirements, specifications;
  • Be responsible for robust design/validation in compliance with economic objectives;
  • Support technical architecture and standardization missions;
  • Respect standardization rules;
  • Support design reviews, internally and with suppliers.

Its scope of action could include: all or part of the design, integration, validation of blocks / products

Compliance with Business processes and design rules:

  • Business design assistance: simulations/coding/validation;
  • Business design assistance: calculations, including worst-case/statistical cases, and thermal studies.
  • Business test assistance.

Direction monitoring

  • Reports on the progress of his/her tasks;
  • Reports risks.

About you:

  • You hold an engineering degree or equivalent master's.
  • You have initial experience as a system engineer, ideally acquired in the automotive industry.
  • You are familiar with the V-cycle and have used a requirements management tool.
  • Our environment is strongly international (multi-site teams, world-class clients), hence a fluent English level is required (>3.5 Bright).
  • Experience and/or knowledge in power electronics / electrotechnics would be a plus.
  • You are curious about the automotive environment and propulsion systems.
  • You are motivated and enjoy working in a team.
