Your daily life

Located 20 minutes from the Paris-Saclay technology hub, the site is one of the largest centers of excellence for surface radars. We contribute to developing, designing, integrating, and testing air surveillance radars dedicated to target detection and identification.

The "Radar Embedded Processing" Competence Center, dedicated to the Surface Radar product line, is expanding to address new projects related to the security (Cybersecurity) of its products.

This organization drives the development and implementation of cybersecurity solutions within surface radars (civilian and military, terrestrial and naval), which will then be used by our Clients.

The Infrastructure & Cybersecurity team consists of two teams of about ten engineers each, as well as Product Owners, Architects, and Project Managers.

Since early 2023, it has been implementing a common infrastructure and cybersecurity platform for all our current radars.

This platform provides, among other things, the operating system layer on which our Radar application software runs.

As this software has increased performance needs, it is necessary to provide a certain number of Real-time priorities at the OS layer.

In this context, we are looking for a Real-time Linux Engineer.

As a Real-time Linux Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Collaborate with various application development teams, software architects, experts, etc.
  • Understand and characterize application needs in terms of real-time.
  • Study existing application architectures.
  • Understand the different current constraints (bottlenecks).
  • Study which performance parameters can be applicable to all applications.
  • Propose a set of tests that can be performed at the OS level to control performance alterations (e.g., OS updates).
  • Provide technical expertise, both on the OS side and the application side when necessary.
  • In collaboration with the rest of the team, participate in defining quarterly objectives, based on project milestones.
  • Identify product evolution opportunities based on the analysis of encountered problems.
  • Define and carry a product roadmap around real-time Linux kernels, while meeting project needs.

Desired Profile:

  • Engineer's degree (Bac+5 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development on Linux OS (RedHat and derivatives are a plus)
  • Very good knowledge of Linux operating systems, usage, and security recommendations.
  • Very good knowledge of parameters that can affect system performance (kernel, network, peripherals, etc.).
  • Sufficient knowledge of software development languages (Python, Java, C, Ada, Golang) to understand existing software.
  • Good knowledge of the software environment applied to industry (requirements traceability, test cone, etc.).
