Technical Lead

The AdviserLogic group develops solutions that empower financial advisors to deliver compliant and comprehensive financial advice. As a Tech Lead, you'll be part of a data-centric team responsible for aggregating, processing, and standardizing large-scale datasets from multiple geographies for downstream systems. You will design scalable, reliable data pipelines and collaborate with the ECHO team to deliver high-quality, compliant financial planning solutions, leveraging Morningstar’s extensive data and research.

Must Have

• Build and optimize data systems, including scalable ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Standardize, clean, and prepare data for downstream use.
• Implement caching and performance optimization strategies.
• Ensure system reliability by troubleshooting production issues.
• Maintain scalability, reliability, and testability of systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to align solutions.
• Participate in Agile development processes.
• Contribute to engineering culture by applying best practices and mentoring.
• Possess 6+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in Python and PySpark.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data tools like Hive and Iceberg.
• Proficiency in AWS services such as EMR, Glue, and Athena.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

Good to Have

• Experience with TypeScript (JavaScript) or .NET (C#)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB)
• Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, alerting)
• Knowledge of financial data systems or regulated environments

Required Technical Skills

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in data engineering or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in Python and PySpark.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data tools (Hive, Iceberg, etc.).
• Proficiency in AWS services (EMR, Glue, Athena).
• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Knowledge of caching techniques and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
