System Testing Intern

Plug Inc. is seeking a highly motivated student for a Fuel Cell System Testing and Validation internship. The intern will assist with testing and validation initiatives, gaining exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment. Responsibilities include planning and executing test plans, improving testing systems, conducting system characterization, automating operations, and collaborating with team members to present findings.

Must Have

• Plan, develop, and execute tests plans and protocols (DVP&R)
• Collaborate with senior engineers on design verification and validation
• Continuously improve testing systems, protocols, data analysis procedures, and equipment
• Conduct system characterization, sensitivity testing, and Design of Experiments (DOE)
• Automate operations where applicable and troubleshooting equipment as needed
• Develop effective communication skills by collaborating with team members and presenting findings
• Hands-on experience in lab environments
• Familiarity with testing equipment and tools
• Experience operating test stations using LabVIEW or similar software
• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related program
• Reliable transportation to the office
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB or VBA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
• Excellent follow-through
• Must be driven and self-motivated

Fuel Cell Systems Validation (Co-Op)

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Term: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026

Position Summary

Plug Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated student to join our team. The student will be responsible for assisting with the Fuel Cell System Testing and Validation in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of your academic studies and interests. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug’s products.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute tests plans and protocols (DVP&R) to assess fuel cell performance, materials, and technologies. Collaborate with senior engineers on design verification and validation.
• Continuously improve testing systems, protocols, data analysis procedures, and equipment.
• Conduct system characterization, sensitivity testing, and Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize operational conditions.
• Automate operations where applicable and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
• Develop effective communication skills by collaborating with team members and presenting findings to different stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience in lab environments, familiarity with testing equipment and tools, and experience operating test stations using LabVIEW or similar software

Education and Qualification

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related program
• Must have reliable transportation to the office

Estimated Base Salary Range:

$21.00 - $25.00
