Aptiv is seeking a Systems Engineer to work on cutting-edge applications and develop breakthrough technologies for leading automotive brands. The role involves ensuring products and technology meet customer and regulatory requirements, managing customer communication, and overseeing the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and validating new products, ensuring timely completion of system features according to quality standards, following design standards, leading requirement reviews, and transforming customer requirements into product specifications. The engineer will contribute to requirement analysis, system architecture, and feature integration, manage technical discussions, and drive process improvements for efficiency.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive or consumer electronics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of C programming
  • Familiarity with embedded systems
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with microprocessor/controller hardware designs
  • System/Software Architectures for automotive designs
  • Familiarity with Functional Safety or Cybersecurity
  • Experience with ADAS ECU, Radars Design, or Body Control Modules
  • Familiarity with system/software development processes (Automotive SPICE)
  • Experience with vehicle protocols and diagnostics

YOUR ROLE

The Systems Engineer on our team shall be responsible for ensuring that the products and technology meet customer and regulatory requirements. You will manage customer communication, requirements, and expectations throughout the product development lifecycle.

In your daily job you will:

  • Design, develop, and validate new products and technology
  • Ensure that system features and deliverables are completed on time per Aptiv quality standards                        
  • Follow APTIV design standards, guidelines, best practices, procedures and policies
  • Lead feature definition and requirement reviews         
  • Ensure the logical and systematic transformation of requirements into a total system solution
  • Contribute to requirement analysis, system architecture, and feature integration / verification
  • Convert customer requirements into product requirements and design specification
  • Ensure proper development, execution and verification across all engineering competencies
  • Responsible to lead technical discussions, design reviews and customer presentations
  • Develop innovative and creative solutions to unique engineering challenges
  • Manage and track system features to ensure high quality delivery on-time
  • Drive process, procedure, and methodology improvements to optimize and continuously improve work efficiency

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (mechatronics, electrical, or related field of study)
  • 2+ years professional experience in Consumer Electronics or Automotive Industry
  • Interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a positive approach to challenge
  • Cross functional interests, ambitious and self-driven. Adaptive, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to effectively manage several projects at once
  • Strong soft skills: skilled networking creation, influencing skills, constantly learning, positive and ownership profile
  • Proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production
  • Knowledge of programming (C or other language)
  • Familiarity with embedded systems designs
  • Familiarity with microprocessor/controller based hardware designs, System/Software Architectures for automotive designs, and network topology
  • Familiarity with Functional Safety or Cybersecurity knowledge/background
  • Familiarity with ADAS ECU, Radars Design, Body Control Modules or similar.
  • Familiarity with system/software development processes (Automotive SPICE) and tools
  • Experience with vehicle protocols and diagnostics
  • Experience with embedded hardware and serial communication tools
