Job Description

As Team Lead Trade Marketing & Sales, you will take on a key role in shaping the commercial future of our globally renowned magazine brands – including VOGUE, AD, Glamour, GQ, and Condé Nast Traveller. You will develop and manage strategic measures that promote market penetration, sales performance at the POS, consumer loyalty, and revenue growth. Your focus will be on strategic sales management, POS marketing, pricing, campaign management, and cross-channel revenue optimization.
Must have:
  • Lead and develop Newsstand & Subscription team, manage cross-brand sales and marketing strategy.
  • Plan, develop, and manage sales-promoting measures at the Point-of-Sale (POS marketing & campaigns).
  • Conceive and coordinate POS materials, campaigns, and collaborations (Trade Marketing).
  • Manage sales and marketing for new introductions, relaunches, and special editions.
  • Budget responsibility for sales and marketing, planning, controlling, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Analyze sales, IVW, and market data; create forecasts, pricing models, and business cases.
  • Identify growth levers and efficiency potentials through competitive and market analyses.
  • Work on international promotions and initiatives, representing Germany in global working groups.
  • Manage interfaces with editorial, marketing, finance, production, and sales partners.

Responsibility for sales and marketing strategy with a focus on reach, visibility at the POS, revenue growth & budget control.

As Team Lead Trade Marketing & Sales, you will take on a key role in shaping the commercial future of our globally renowned magazine brands – including VOGUE, AD, Glamour, GQ, and Condé Nast Traveller. You will develop and manage strategic measures that promote market penetration, sales performance at the POS, consumer loyalty, and revenue growth. Your focus will be on strategic sales management, POS marketing, pricing, campaign management, and cross-channel revenue optimization.

Your tasks:

  • Leadership & Strategy: You lead and develop the team in the Newsstand & Subscription area and are responsible for the cross-brand sales and marketing strategy – with a special focus on increasing revenue, price development, budget optimization, and performance-oriented measures.
  • POS Marketing & Campaigns: You plan, develop, and manage sales-promoting measures at the Point-of-Sale (test placements, special promotions, bundles, special covers, promotions) and stage our brands in retail.
  • Trade Marketing: You conceive and coordinate POS materials, campaigns, and collaborations in close cooperation with retail partners, agencies, and internal interfaces.
  • Market Introduction & Launches: You manage the sales and marketing-relevant measures for new introductions, relaunches, and special editions – from positioning to quantity calculation.
  • Budget & Controlling: You take over budget responsibility for your area, plan, manage, and control sales and marketing budgets, develop scenarios, and optimize the use of funds based on economic KPIs.
  • Analysis & Reporting: You analyze sales, IVW, and market data, create forecasts, pricing models, and business cases, and derive concrete recommendations for action.
  • Market & Trend Observation: You identify growth levers and efficiency potentials through competitive and market analyses and develop measures to exploit these potentials.
  • International Projects: You work on international promotions and initiatives (e.g., covermounts, bundles, co-promotions) and represent Germany in global working groups.
  • Interface Management: You network closely with editorial, marketing, finance, production, and our sales partner MZV to secure cross-channel commercial goals.

Your Profile:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a strategic sales or marketing environment – ideally with a focus on POS, price and quantity control, budget responsibility, and market analysis.
  • Initial leadership experience or proven project responsibility as well as an integrative, motivating leadership style.
  • Sound experience in budget planning, economic controlling, and operational management of sales and marketing budgets.
  • Deep understanding of sales systems, consumer behavior, media markets, and multichannel strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills: IVW, sales figures, returns, benchmarks – for you, these are not abstract numbers, but drivers for action.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, marketing and brand awareness, and a feel for target group relevance and brand-appropriate pricing.
  • Proactive, structured, and independent way of working – with joy in creative freedom and brand power.
  • Very good English language skills, both written and spoken.
