The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Program Management who has successfully delivered complex transformation programs for technology and product organisations. To be successful in this role, you will bring deep knowledge of SDLC and PMO best practices, experience implementing process and technology optimisation initiatives, and a passion for building high-performing global teams that deliver digital transformation at scale.
This role partners with business, product, and engineering leaders to define and deliver the portfolio of programs and projects within our Publishing domain. You will set and execute goals aligned with organisational strategy, owning delivery across the full SDLC and product lifecycle. As a functional leader, you will shape best practices for program and project management across Condé Nast’s global Publishing Platform teams, driving operational maturity, performance, and excellence in collaboration with business, product, data, and technology leaders.
What will you be doing?
- Direct multiple complex technical and product programs across areas such as content services, content planning toolkit, publishing platforms, distribution as well as brand enablement, and driving content experience projects.
- Oversee portfolio governance, managing interdependencies, risks, and priorities across multiple programs and workstreams.
- Manage and develop a team of Technical Program and Project Managers to ensure effective execution and delivery outcomes.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and Business leaders to deliver transformative software and platform solutions.
- Design and implement program governance frameworks, performance dashboards, and portfolio-level reporting for senior leadership.
- Apply and refine ITIL, LEAN, and AGILE best practices to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
- Develop and manage program business cases, budgets, and benefits realisation plans; ensure financial accountability across all programs.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to define and track program OKRs and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
- Monitor delivery performance, forecast resource requirements, and implement improvement or mitigation plans as needed.
- Ensure all program operations adhere to legal, financial, and organisational policies.
- Drive a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About you:
- Strong proven experience in Technical Program Management, with proven success at a Senior Manager level.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale technology and product transformation programs in a global or enterprise environment (Media or Publishing experience preferred).
- Understand core technical concepts in relation to Publishing platforms. Familiar with distributed system designs, enterprise architecture as well as data storage and transfer mechanisms.
- Strong expertise in program governance, portfolio management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. Strong financial acumen, including business case development, capex/opex management, and value realisation.
- Proven experience managing a PMO, implementing ITIL, LEAN, and AGILE frameworks, and driving continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience working with OKR and SDLC frameworks with Product and Engineering teams.
- Experienced in leading, mentoring, and developing technical program and project management teams.
- Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Expert proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, Airtable, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Google Workspace.
- Holds a recognised Program/Portfolio Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP/PMI, or P3O).
- Collaborative, self-driven, and results-oriented; able to manage ambiguity and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to collaborate across global time zones.
- Good to have : Experience with Machine learning projects, GraphQL data, site search APIs, content management systems, front-end user experience tooling and design system, taxonomy understanding, web application rendering and SEO optimization.
