About This Role
The Aftermarket operations team is looking for a highly motivated and rallying leader for the
position of the Technical Lead for Performance systems (Aerodynamics, Sound, Controls an Motion).
The performance team is responsible for the design, production and maintenance of software solutions, based on the
concepts of aircraft performance systems on our various generations of simulators. The position holder tasks expected are,
but not limited to:
• Owns the architecture and roadmap for the maintenance, the evolution and the quality of the hardware and software assets of the update performance community.
• Leads the community of practice with the support of the subject matter experts for their functional area.
• Technically oversees the design and integration aircraft performance systems in conjunction with all subject matter experts.
• Works in collaboration with the update Technical Authorities for the new technology introduction and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensures sharing the knowledge, insight and the application of the best practices.
• Supports and follows up on the technical execution of the products with the collaboration of the Project Technical Leads.
• Supports the estimation process and provides consulting on the resources assignment process.
• Acts as a Technical Coach (Assessor) for the engineering technical career path.
• Provides an interface with customers and vendors.
Ideal Requirements:
• In accordance with the engineering career technical track, a band 7 or higher.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor degree in software, electrical, mechanical or physics engineering.
• Dynamic team player with a sense of initiative, results-oriented with good team spirit.
• Has demonstrated leadership throughout his career and can adapt to change.
• Experience with the different level of software components: multiple operating systems
(Windows, Linux, AIX), micro-processors (Intel), drivers and microcode, the inter processes
communication and network protocols (TCP/IP, Windows Sockets, UDP, etc.)
• Knowledge of Fortran, C and C++ programing languages is essential.
• Knowledge of real time programming is an asset.
• Effective time management and multitasking skills. Ability to manage risk, project scope, and resources.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Good knowledge of MS-Office suite, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
• Availability for occasional business trips.
