Job Description

We are seeking a system administrator to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing, maintaining, and deploying advanced simulation devices globally. This role involves supporting all aspects of building, documenting, and maintaining mixed (Windows and Linux) closed-room infrastructures, as well as setting up and managing software development environments. The administrator will support engineers, solve problems, and create, test, update, and execute automated and semi-automated procedures for configuring system components both internally and at customer sites. Key responsibilities include Linux and Windows system administration, infrastructure setup and maintenance, supporting and monitoring hardware, operating systems, and applications to ensure service reliability, and answering technical questions.

  • Configuration Management experience
  • Centralized Auditing setup and management
  • Centralized patching (WSUS) setup and management
  • System hardening (STIG implementation)
  • Vulnerability scanners (ACAS/Nessus, SCAP)
  • Version control tools (ClearCase, Git, Bitbucket)
  • Security+ or CISSP Certification

Summary 

We are looking for a system administrator to work as part of a team from multiple disciplines to develop, maintain and deploy advanced simulation devices across the globe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include supporting all aspects of building, documenting, and maintaining mixed (combination of both Windows and Linux) closed room infrastructures and setup and management of software development environments.  In addition to supporting engineers and continuously solving problems you will create, test, update and execute automated and semi-automated procedures for configuring all the components of our systems both in-house and at our customer sites.

  • Infrastructure setup and maintenance
  • Supports and monitors infrastructure hardware systems, operating systems and infrastructure applications to ensure reliability and availability of infrastructure services.
  • Answers technical questions

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • A BS/BA in an engineering, computer science, or information technology discipline or equivalent work experience with typically less than 3 years of related experience.
  • Linux System Administration
  • Windows System Administration
  • Knowledge of hardware and familiar with command line tools.
  • Event, audit, and syslog analysis.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking. Experience with managed switch and router setup.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as bash, csh, Python, and Powershell.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong communications skills to effectively interact with peers, project vendors and other teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CompTIA Security + Certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Strong Windows Server System setup and administration.
  • Windows/Linux integration: File Sharing, authentication.
  • Experience with Domain Controller setup and creation, management, update, and deployment of Group Policy Objects.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor storage systems (NAS, SAN, NFS etc).
  • Experience configuring Cisco and/or HP Networking.
  • Custom Automated Operating system deployment, such as Windows Deployment Toolkit.
  • Experience with Configuration Management.
  • Setup and management of Centralized Auditing.
  • Setup and management of centralized patching (such as WSUS).
  • Experience with System hardening (Implementation of the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)).
  • Experience with vulnerability scanners such as ACAS/Nessus and SCAP.
  • Experience with version control tools such as ClearCase, Git, Bitbucket.
  • Security+ or CISSP Certification.

Security Responsibilities 

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. 

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. 

Work Environment 

The job is performed in an office environment, often in secure closed areas.  Job requires work in plant at least 3 days per week, remote work not to exceed two days per week.  Full time in plant is preferred.  Job requires use of normal office equipment and occasional access to rack mounted hardware. Domestic and international travel up to 50% of the year may be required..
