Vanity Fair is seeking a Senior Manager of Editorial Operations, US, to join its fast-paced editorial team. This role involves maintaining day-to-day operations and long-term planning for the print and digital editorial departments. Responsibilities include managing web and newsletter producers, overseeing print issue lineups and page budgets, setting and enforcing print deadlines, coordinating with production partners, managing editorial budgets and assignments, maintaining efficient editorial workflows, curating editorial calendars, syncing digital and print lineups, managing some audio workflows, facilitating onboarding and training, liaising with the marketing team, curating long-lead digital coverage, working with product and engineering teams on tracking and integrations, and overseeing archive updates. The role also involves inspiring, coaching, and leading a team of Producers.

Vanity Fair seeks a Senior Manager of Editorial Operations, US, to join our fast-paced editorial team. Working closely with the Global Director, Editorial Operations and Strategy, the Senior Manager of Editorial Operations will be responsible for helping maintain day-to-day operations and long-term planning for Vanity Fair’s print and digital editorial departments in the United States. 

This is an in-office position based in New York City that reports directly to VF’s Global Director, Editorial Operations and Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage web and newsletter producers on daily workload, providing feedback, coaching and guidance

  • Manage the VF US print issue lineups and page budgets

  • Set and enforce print deadlines in coordination with editorial, production, research/copy, talent, visual and design departments

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Pubworx on issue production issues

  • Manage editorial budgets and assignments in partnership with VF’s business manager

  • Maintain efficient editorial workflows across platforms

  • Curate and maintain editorial calendars to identify coverage opportunities and help plan cross-departmental coverage with editors

  • Sync digital and print lineups

  • Manage some audio workflow, including liaising with outside partners 

  • Facilitate onboarding and digital platform training for new staff members

  • Liaise with marketing team to communicate sponsorship opportunities

  • Curate and manage long-lead digital coverage, including obituary and cultural calendar coverage planning

  • Work closely with digital product and engineering teams on issue tracking and new product integrations

  • Oversee archive updates and upkeep

  • Inspire, coach, and lead a team of Producers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment


Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years working in an editorial environment across platforms

  • Proficient in navigating content management systems

  • Problem-solving attitude

  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills, with an ability to collaborate cross-functionality

  • Extremely organized with the ability to multitask between multiple projects

The expected base salary range for this position is from $97,000-$112,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
