Technical Production Team Lead

Epic Games is seeking a Technical Production Team Lead to join the Fortnite Core Tech team. This role involves leading a major R&D program focused on fundamental game and engine systems, including developer workflows and internal processes. You will collaborate across the Fortnite organization and with company-wide team leads to manage program objectives, execution, and results. The ideal candidate is versatile, thrives in a dynamic environment, possesses strong communication skills, and can manage complex initiatives' roadmaps and schedules. Experience in game, engine, or tech framework development, and direct work with programmers, is essential.

Must Have

• Collaborate with programming directors, product managers, and senior executives to define program strategies and initiatives.
• Establish a roadmap feedback process to ensure clear tracking of health, risks, and progress, and communicate it across the organization.
• Contribute to the evolution of operations to support the Metaverse vision.
• Directly mentor producers or influence relevant teams in their working methods and project execution.
• Divide your time between high-level strategic oversight and detailed operational management of technical work.
• In-depth experience collaborating with programmers on technical projects.
• Ability to drive strategic objectives while mastering technical details.
• Experience managing complex programs, with sufficient understanding to assess the soundness and feasibility of underlying plans.
• Good understanding of complex systems—how they work, their usefulness, and their interdependence—and a natural curiosity to understand their smallest aspects.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proven experience in managing roadmaps for large teams and mobilizing teams around common goals.

These initiatives focus on fundamental game and engine systems, including internal developer processes and workflows. Possible programs include Development and Operations (DevOps) and stability, technical initiatives related to the editor, or improving game access time. In this role, you will collaborate with the entire Fortnite organization as well as team leads across the company to manage the objectives, execution, and results of this program. We are looking for a versatile individual, capable of juggling multiple priorities, comfortable in a constantly evolving environment, with excellent communication skills, and able to manage the roadmaps and schedules of a set of complex initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in game, engine, or technology framework development, and has already worked directly with programmers and the systems they design.
