This role involves the sales and marketing of Sika's full line of epoxy and polyurethane flooring systems within the Flooring Target Market. The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for developing specifications with consulting engineers, engaging with contractors and distributors, and providing on-site technical support for projects. Key activities include performing sales activities to increase market share, identifying new opportunities, and conducting presentations for various stakeholders. The representative will also assist technical staff with on-site issues and complete sales activity reports, ensuring Sika's best interests are represented.
Must have:
  • Market full line of products to engineering communities, contractors, and distributors to develop specifications.
  • Provide on-site technical support for products.
  • Perform sales activities in a designated territory to increase market share and drive top-line sales performance.
  • Recommend sales forecast, discount targets, and budgeted expenditures.
  • Identify and follow-up on new market opportunities, emphasizing value-added sales.
  • Participate and complete RFQs/tenders when specifying products.
  • Conduct “lunch and learns” and other seminars or presentations for distributors, contractors, and engineering companies.
  • Participate in sales meetings when required.
  • Assist technical staff with any on-site problems.
  • Perform field testing and complete detailed results reporting.
  • Complete monthly sales activity reports.
  • Respond to specific customer complaints.
  • Develop trust and rapport with end users of material and equipment.
  • Participate in trade shows in various markets.
  • Take an active role in industry associations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Technical Sales Representatives will be responsible for the sales and marketing of our full line of epoxy and polyurethane flooring systems for the Flooring Target Market. The employee should represent the best interests of Sika when dealing with consulting engineers, distributors and contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market our full line of products in the BU to the engineering communities for the purpose of developing specifications, to contractors, as well as distributors.
  • Provide on-site technical support on projects for our line of products
  • Perform sales activities in a designated territory to increase market share and drive top line sales performance.
  • Recommend sales forecast, discount targets and budgeted expenditures
  • Identify and follow-up on new market opportunities. Emphasize value-added sales.
  • Participate and complete RFQs/tenders when specifying our products.
  • Conduct “lunch and learns” and other seminars or presentations for distributors, contractors and engineering companies.
  • Participate in sales meetings when required.
  • Assist technical staff with any on-site problems.
  • Perform field testing and complete detailed results reporting
  • Complete monthly sales activity reports
  • Responding to specific customer complaints.
  • Develop trust and rapport with the end users of our material and equipment
  • Participate in trade shows in various markets

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Civil Engineering Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (French is an asset)
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Highly analytical
  • Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised

WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • All required safety training including WHMIS, confined space, working at heights
  • Knowledge and training to physically apply shotcrete with associated equipment
  • Ability to lift up to or exceeding 20KG
  • Uniform provided and follow industry standards for PPE relating to mine site or construction site
  • Much time spent underground in varying temperatures
  • May be required to travel and spend time in remote areas
  • Company vehicle provided
