Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are currently seeking expression of interest from candidates that are looking for opportunities. Length of fixed term assignments can range from 6 weeks up to 3-6 months to cover staff vacancies.
- Assignments can be for full time or part time working hours (Monday to Friday).
- Depending on the needs of the hiring team, you could be working on site or there maybe flexibility to work hybrid during the week once fully trained.
You will be required to support our Service Divisions and/or Faculties with administration support with the following tasks:
- Assisting a team through a range of administrative functions
- Updating internal databases student/academic eg SSO, Canvas
- Processing admissions and enrolments
- Preparing and formatting documents/reports
- Responding to queries from Staff and Students
- Organising meetings, functions and events
- Co-ordinating agendas and taking minutes
- Diary management & travel bookings
- General finance administration
- Written correspondence
- Updating marketing materials and maintaining online web content
What We’re Looking For:
- Recent and relevant experience within the tertiary sector or large organisations.
- Intermediate (ideally advanced) proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Availability to start immediately (we may accommodate a 1-week notice period).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
As part of the University of Auckland’s large and complex environment, you will need to confidently engage with diverse stakeholders, interpret information accurately, and produce clear, professional documentation. Your ability to communicate effectively will ensure smooth collaboration and successful outcomes.
Salary Range: $55,600 – $79,300 per annum (pro-rated for part-time), depending on the position.

- Successful reference checks (ideally your last 2–3 reporting managers)
