Job Description

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a motivated full-time Torch Cutter to join their team, working Monday to Friday from 6:30am-3:30pm. The role involves operating torch equipment to precisely cut and trim various metal materials, setting up equipment, inspecting workpieces, and assisting with material handling. Candidates should have a basic understanding of torch operation and safety, strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity. Previous experience in metalworking is preferred. AIM offers competitive wages, benefits, an RRSP matching program, and an annual tuition scholarship.
Must have:
  • Operating torch equipment to cut and trim different metal materials
  • Setting up and preparing torch equipment and ensuring proper safety measures are in place
  • Performing cutting tasks with precision and accuracy
  • Inspecting finished workpieces and making adjustments as needed
  • Assisting with material handling and preparation tasks, such as moving and securing workpieces
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of equipment and materials
  • Basic understanding of torch equipment operation and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift objects as required
  • Comfortable working outdoors and being exposed to all the elements

  • Setting up and preparing torch equipment and ensuring proper safety measures are in place
  • Performing cutting tasks with precision and accuracy
  • Inspecting finished workpieces and making adjustments as needed
  • Assisting with material handling and preparation tasks, such as moving and securing workpieces using clamps or fixtures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of equipment and materials

Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have previous experience in metalworking, welding, fabrication, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • You have a basic understanding of torch equipment operation and safety procedures
  • You show strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work
  • Have you good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • You have the ability to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift objects as required
  • You are comfortable working outdoors and being exposed to all the elements
