Job Description

MiQ is a global programmatic media partner, helping brands and agencies make smarter marketing decisions through data, technology and human insight. We blend programmatic expertise and leading AI technology with a consultative, people‑first approach to drive real business outcomes for our clients.

Our culture is defined by collaboration, continuous innovation and the professional development of our teams, with operations in more than 20 countries and partnerships with many of the world’s leading brands.

The Opportunity – Trading Director LatAm Hub

As Trading Director for the LatAm Hub, you will be the senior operational leader for our regional trading practice. You will set the vision, strategy and standards of excellence for programmatic trading across LatAm, connecting campaign execution with client outcomes and MiQ’s global commercial priorities.

You will lead a multicultural team of Traders and Trader Managers, ensuring best‑in‑class performance, margin and growth, while driving innovation across platforms (walled gardens and open web), automation, data‑driven optimisation and new product solutions.

What you’ll do

1. Trading Strategy & Business Performance

  • Define and execute the trading strategy for the LatAm Hub, aligned with MiQ’s revenue, margin and growth targets at regional and global level.
  • Translate regional commercial priorities (by vertical, country and client type) into clear programmatic investment strategies by channel, platform and product (Brand, Performance, CTV, Video, DOOH, etc.).
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex campaign challenges, commercial deals, technical configurations or performance issues across platforms (DV360, The Trade Desk, Meta, TikTok and other DSPs/SSPs).
  • Oversee delivery, revenue and GP forecasting for the LatAm portfolio, providing weekly visibility and clear action plans in partnership with local Commercial and Trading leadership.

2. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of Traders, Senior Traders and Trader Managers, building a culture of high performance, innovation and commercial accountability.
  • Define and evolve the core trading competencies (execution, analytics, communication, collaboration, innovation and commercial acumen), with clear expectations, ongoing feedback and individual development plans.
  • Design and execute the hiring, onboarding and upskilling plan for the LatAm Trading team, in partnership with Talent, L&D and global Trading/Product/Analytics teams.
  • Manage workload and account allocation across teams to balance commercial opportunity, operational load and talent development.

3. Cross‑Functional & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Sales, Client Services, Product, Analytics and Marketing to ensure MiQ’s value proposition is brought to life through execution excellence and actionable insights for clients.
  • Join strategic pitches, QBRs and C‑level meetings with key agencies and advertisers, positioning Trading as a strategic partner rather than a pure executional function.
  • Lead and prioritise partnerships with DSPs, SSPs and publishers for LatAm (including walled gardens and open web), aligning supply decisions with commercial and product strategies.
  • Represent the LatAm Hub in global Trading forums and initiatives, sharing best practices, contributing to product roadmaps and scaling regional innovations to other markets.

4. Innovation, Product & Data

  • Drive automation, data usage and adoption of new solutions (e.g. cookieless, identity, retail media, CTV, omnichannel measurement) within the LatAm Trading team.
  • Work with global Product and Optimization teams to test, launch and scale new products and optimisation frameworks in the region, measuring impact on client performance and margin.
  • Establish clear test‑and‑learn frameworks for the region (features, bidding strategies, audiences, dynamic creatives), ensuring documentation and roll‑out of learnings across teams and markets.

What you’ll bring

Non‑negotiable requirements

1. Hands‑on experience in key platforms

  • Deep, hands‑on experience activating, optimising and troubleshooting campaigns in DV360, The Trade Desk, Meta Ads and TikTok Ads Manager, including full end‑to‑end ownership (setup, optimisation, QA and advanced reporting).

2. English level B2/C1

  • Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to lead meetings, presentations and technical discussions with global stakeholders (US, EMEA, APAC) and external partners entirely in English.

3. 5+ years’ experience in Regional and Global Hubs

  • Minimum 5 years working in regional hubs (LatAm) with direct exposure to global structures (ideally including the US) – for example, running multi‑market portfolios, participating in global initiatives, or reporting into global leaders.

4. Leadership & People Management skills

  • Proven experience leading high‑performing teams, including people managers and multi‑disciplinary squads.
  • Strong capability to influence and negotiate with senior internal stakeholders (Sales Directors, Client Partners, Product, Finance, Global Trading).
  • Track record managing external partners and vendors (DSPs, SSPs, publishers, data partners) and resolving complex situations through collaboration and clear communication.

5. Strategic command of Programmatic & Data

  • Ability to connect day‑to‑day trading decisions with omnichannel strategies, business outcomes and margin, using data, experimentation and storytelling to influence senior stakeholders.

Additional experience & skills

  • 10+ years of experience in digital media, with at least 7+ years in programmatic trading and/or ad tech, and proven experience in regional or global leadership roles.
  • Experience managing complex, multi‑market portfolios (multiple LatAm countries, several verticals, both brand and performance, including e‑commerce and app strategies).
  • Solid understanding of the programmatic ecosystem: identity, data partnerships, brand safety, measurement, attribution, incrementality, privacy and regulation impacts.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts (algorithms, optimisation models, data signals) into clear business narratives for commercial teams and clients.
  • Demonstrated experience driving change and innovation (new ways of working, quality frameworks, platform adoption, automation, AI‑driven optimisation) within trading or activation teams.
  • Strong track record of improving client KPIs and GP/margin through trading strategy and portfolio management.
