Victor is seeking a detail-oriented individual for a limited-term/temporary position as an Underwriting Assistant in Ottawa, Canada. This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in the office. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing new business and renewal underwriting applications, preparing and sending policy documents, endorsements, and notices, and following up on outstanding requests. The role also involves providing backup support for the Mail Room and Reception, adhering to strict departmental guidelines and turnaround times. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, customer service, data entry, and multi-tasking abilities, and be proficient in MS Office Suite.

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Victor in a limited term/temporary position. This role will be based in Ottawa, Canada. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional for our temporary position to review and process new business and renewal underwriting applications, prepare and send policy documents, endorsements, and notices, while ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding requests such as applications and financial statements. The ideal candidate will also provide backup support for the Mail Room and Reception, adhering to strict departmental guidelines and turnaround times.


We will count on you to:

  • Review and process new business and renewal underwriting applications.

  • Process, invoice, prepare and send all policy related documents

  • Prepare and assemble endorsements, lapse and cancellation notices and other mid-term servicing requests

  • Follow Up on outstanding requests such as Applications, Financial Statements etc.

  • Adhere to strict guidelines and department turnaround times

  • Perform other related duties as required: not limited to back-up support for Mail Room and/or Reception

What you need to have:

  • Post-secondary education combined with 1+ years of experience in administration or customer service roles

  • Excellent organizational, customer service, data entry, and multi-tasking abilities

  • Adaptable to shifting priorities based on task urgency

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
