We are seeking a Video Programming Specialist to support daily video programming operations, including publishing, platform optimization, and calendar management across CNET.com, Mashable.com, PCMag.com, and social video channels. This role involves executing scheduling, overseeing publishing in CMS and YouTube, and optimizing content for discoverability. The ideal candidate will use data to inform decisions and collaborate with production, editorial, social, and audience development teams.

Must Have

  • Manage and maintain the master programming calendar, executing day-to-day scheduling and release of video content.
  • Oversee daily publishing operations in Content Management Systems (CMS) and on third-party channels like YouTube.
  • Build, refine, and document publishing workflows to ensure content is platform-ready.
  • Optimize all video content for specific platforms, applying best practices for titling, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, and metadata.
  • Manage channel pages and community engagement on YouTube.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and platform-specific best practices.
  • Serve as support for production and editorial teams, coordinating asset delivery and communicating scheduling updates.
  • Partner with social and audience development teams to align on programming and amplify video content.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in video programming, operations, or channel management.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex content calendar, track multiple assets, and manage overlapping workflows.
  • Deep familiarity with content management systems and video publishing workflows.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of optimizing content for YouTube.
  • Skilled at reading and interpreting audience data to inform daily content decisions.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

We are seeking a Video Programming Specialist to support the daily execution of our video programming operations. This role is a key operational cog in our team, responsible for hands-on publishing, platform optimization, and calendar management across our owned-and-operated sites (CNET.com, Mashable.com, PCMag.com) and social video channels. The ideal candidate is skilled with publishing workflows and uses data to inform day-to-day programming decisions, ensuring our content is optimized, timely, and engaging for our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling & Operations
  • Manage and maintain the master programming calendar, executing the day-to-day scheduling and release of all video content across platforms.
  • Oversee daily publishing operations in our Content Management Systems (CMS) and on third-party channels like YouTube
  • Build, refine, and document publishing workflows to ensure content is platform-ready and all assets are delivered correctly.
  • Platform Optimization & Management
  • Optimize all video content for specific platforms, applying best practices for titling, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, and metadata to improve discoverability and performance.
  • Manage channel pages and community engagement on YouTube, including responding to comments and monitoring audience feedback.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and platform-specific best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Serve as support for production and editorial teams, coordinating asset delivery and communicating scheduling updates.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in video programming, operations, or channel management at a digital publisher or media company.

  • Hands-on Publishing Skills: Deep familiarity with content management systems and video publishing workflows.
