VIE R&D Industrial Software Engineer

Valeo is seeking a VIE R&D Industrial Software Engineer for its Itako, Japan site. This role involves understanding software architecture, defining specifications, and integrating software for industrial applications. Key responsibilities include verifying software components, ensuring proper integration, and supporting SW coding, optimization, and debugging for industrialization. The engineer will also focus on understanding industrial processes, proposing automation improvements, and coordinating cross-functional activities to secure production launches. Candidates should have a degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, experience in software development, and fluent English.

Must Have

• Understand software architecture and define SW specifications and integration for industrial purposes.
• Verify software components meet version, lifecycle, quality standards, and required qualifications.
• Check interfaces between software components and coordinate workshops to clarify SW design for manufacturing.
• Create software elements based on defined specifications and ensure proper integration.
• Understand industrial processes, propose automation improvements, and consider digitalization constraints.
• Support SW coding, optimization, debugging, and robustness design for industrialization.
• Communicate effectively within the project team to secure production launch.
• Monitor, report, and escalate issues, providing regular updates to the R&D team manager.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in software development, integration, testing, or industrialization of embedded or automotive systems.
• Fluent level of English.
• Good communication skills, international mindset, open-minded to new cultures and ways of working.
• Humble, good listener, positive attitude, professional, and have a sense of diplomacy.

Your challenges?

• You understand software architecture and define SW specifications and integration for various product components for industrial purposes

• You verify that software components meet version, lifecycle, quality standards, and required qualifications

• You check interfaces between software components and coordinate workshops or discussions to clarify necessary SW design for manufacturing

• You create software elements based on defined specifications and ensure proper integration

• You understand industrial processes, propose automation improvements, and consider digitalization constraints

• You support SW coding, optimization, debugging, and robustness design for industrialization

• You communicate effectively within the project team to secure production launch and coordinate cross-functional activities

• You monitor, report, and escalate issues as needed, providing regular updates to the R&D team manager

Let’s talk about you…

• You are graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

• You already have experience in software development, integration, testing, or industrialization of embedded or automotive systems

• You have a fluent level of English (Japanese or French is a plus)

• You have good communication skills, have an international mindset, and are open-minded to new cultures and new ways of working and thinking

• You are humble, a good listener, positive attitude oriented, professional, and have a sense of diplomacy

• Experience with SW coding, industrial processes, or digitalization tools is a plus
