Job Summary
Valeo is seeking a Polymer Materials Engineer M/F for its Light Division Headquarters. The role involves developing and qualifying new polymer materials and suppliers, providing technical expertise to project and production teams globally, and managing supplier relationships. The engineer will also lead standardization efforts, ensure material-process compatibility, and drive continuous improvement within the polymer scope. This position requires a Master's degree in Materials Science and at least five years of experience in product development, compounding, injection processes, and polymer characterization.
Must Have
- Develop and qualify new polymer materials and suppliers aligned with project needs, sourcing strategy and CO2 reduction targets.
- Provide expertise to purchasing, productivity and project teams, as well as production sites.
- Manage the technical relationship with suppliers, lead polymer material trials and influence/challenge their technology roadmap.
- Be the referent and Standard Owner for the polymer scope.
- Lead the standardizing/evaluating process: write materials specifications, define validation plans, oversee screening, technical evaluation, recording of validation and approval data, and deployment.
- Ensure compatibility between materials and processes to guarantee the robustness of products.
- Ensure the robustness of technical documentation.
- Lead the international network, capitalize on best practices, and provide training to teams on plastics engineering.
- Drive continuous improvement within your scope, monitor its effectiveness, and propose action plans.
- Leverage and capitalize data: analyze issues, identify root causes, propose solutions, and make information available.
- Master's degree (Bac+5) in Materials Science.
- At least five years of professional experience in product development or compounding, injection processes and polymer characterization.
- Working in an industrial environment, implement a rigorous and scientific approach.
- Fluency in English is required.

The Materials Discipline, which coordinates and provides technical support to project teams as well as to the production sites worldwide, is looking for a Polymer Materials Engineer M/F to strengthen the team.
Missions :
1. Polymer Materials & Supplier Strategy
- Develop and qualify new polymer materials and suppliers aligned with the project needs, the sourcing strategy and CO2 reduction targets (CAP50)
- Provide expertise to purchasing, productivity and project teams, as well as production sites, through the different phases of development, both internationally
- Manage the technical relationship with suppliers, lead polymer material trials and influence/challenge their technology roadmap
- Conduct technology and competitive intelligence monitoring
2. Technical leadership & Standardizing
- Be the referent and Standard Owner for the polymer scope
- Lead the standardizing/evaluating process: write materials specifications, define validation plans, then oversee the screening, technical evaluation, recording of validation and approval data, and deployment
- Ensure compatibility between materials and processes to guarantee the robustness of our products
- Ensure the robustness of our technical documentation
3. Network & Continuous improvement
- Lead the international network, capitalize on best practices, and provide training to teams on plastics engineering
- Drive continuous improvement within your scope, monitor its effectiveness, and propose action plans to your management
- Leverage and capitalize data : analyze issues, identify root causes, propose solutions, and make information available to all the teams
Profile :
With a master's degree (Bac+5) in Materials Science, you have at least five years of professional experience, during which you have developed strong skills in product development or compounding, injection processes and polymer characterization.
Working in an industrial environment, you know how to implement a rigorous and scientific approach.
Dynamic, independent, and recognized for your strong interpersonal skills, you are also proactive and tenacious.
Knowledge of the automotive sector is an additional asset.
Fluency in English is required.
