Job Summary

Valeo is seeking a VIE Acoustic Engineer for a 12-month program in Tokyo, Japan. The role involves analyzing product and system acoustic performance, acting as a bridge between R&D and customers, and supporting debugging activities with a continuous improvement mindset. The engineer will define system requirements, cooperate with various internal and external teams, and ensure technical solutions align with customer expectations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, relevant experience, and fluent English.

Must Have

  • Analyze product and system, discuss system requirements with OEM, focusing on acoustic performance
  • Act as a bridge between the research and development team and the customer regarding acoustic activities
  • Support debugging activities and adopt a PDCA/continuous improvement mindset
  • Interface with internal teams, external stakeholders, customers, and suppliers for requirements exchange and clarification
  • Cooperate with function owners, system and software architects, and development and test engineers
  • Define product supporting functions with respect to boundaries, conditions, and constraints
  • Define detailed system requirements for the product supporting functions
  • Contribute to aligning technical solutions with customer expectations and internal process standards
  • Graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in system engineering, product analysis, acoustic performance, or automotive software and hardware integration
  • Fluent level of English
  • Good communication skills, international mindset, open-minded to new cultures and ways of working

The site of Tokyo based in Japan belongs to Brain Division. We are looking for a VIE Acoustic Engineer for 12 months within the team.

Your challenges?

  • You analyze the product and system, and discuss system requirements with the original equipment manufacturer, with a special focus on acoustic performance
  • You act as a bridge between the research and development team and the customer, ensuring clear communication regarding acoustic activities
  • You proactively support debugging activities and adopt a PDCA/continuous improvement mindset to resolve bottleneck issues
  • You interface with internal teams, external stakeholders, customers, and suppliers for requirements exchange and clarification
  • You cooperate with function owners, system and software architects, and development and test engineers to ensure consistency of product supporting functions, such as eCall audio performance
  • You define product supporting functions with respect to boundaries, conditions, and constraints
  • You define detailed system requirements for the product supporting functions
  • You contribute to aligning technical solutions with customer expectations and internal process standards

Let’s talk about you…

  • You are graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • You already have experience in system engineering, product analysis, acoustic performance, or automotive software and hardware integration
  • You have a fluent level of English (Japanese or French is a plus)
  • You have good communication skills, have an international mindset, and are open-minded to new cultures and new ways of working and thinking
  • You are humble, a good listener, positive attitude oriented, professional, and have a sense of diplomacy
  • Experience with PDCA/continuous improvement, debugging, or customer-facing system engineering activities is a plus
