VP, Investment Accounting - Remote

A Kforce client is seeking a VP of Investment Accounting to join their team. The role is remote, with the expectation of travel to headquarters one week per quarter at a minimum, and additional travel as needed to support key initiatives and projects. This leader will oversee and prioritize financial reporting for the company's consolidated investment portfolio, including external SEC reporting as well as internal financial analysis and executive-level presentations. Responsibilities include collaborating cross-functionally on complex investment concepts, leading reporting for new business opportunities, managing month-end and annual financial reporting processes, overseeing capital adequacy and tax reporting, and owning the control environment for investment accounting reporting.

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
• 12+ years of accounting or auditing experience
• 10+ years of leadership experience
• Must currently hold a Controller/Senior Manager title
• Must have public company experience and Big4 audit experience
• Must have financial markets experience
• Experience working within investment firms, private equity firms, banks, and/or insurance companies
• Advanced experience in GAAP, IFRS and Statutory accounting

A Kforce client is seeking a VP of Investment Accounting to join their team. Summary: This leader will oversee and prioritize financial reporting for the company's consolidated investment portfolio, including external SEC reporting as well as internal financial analysis and executive-level presentations. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate cross-functionally to learn and apply complex investment concepts to advise financial impact to new investment structures and strategies
• Leads investment accounting reporting activities related to integration of new business opportunities, new asset classes and other new investment related matters
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial reporting processes for invested assets, income, and expenses in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles, including preparation of financial statements and related disclosures
• Oversee reporting and analysis for capital adequacy regimes, Tax reporting, ESG sustainability reporting, internal management reporting and plan, and trust reporting
• Own the control environment over investment accounting reporting (design, documentation, operating effectiveness), meeting SOX 404 requirements, remediate findings, and mature controls through automation
• Coordinates communication with external auditors, external advisors, service providers as well as local accounting offices and internal business stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of investment risks, drive issue resolution, and exchange of data for proper accounting and management reporting
