Job Summary

The Knights of U studio is seeking a WCAG Specialist to join their team for project FERS.01.04-IP.05-0017/25, "Interactive educational games supporting students' interdisciplinary competencies," co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus. The role involves auditing, ensuring, and implementing game accessibility standards (WCAG and ATAG 2.0), collaborating with the team, and integrating accessibility into game design to meet the needs of students with disabilities. The engagement is until September 30, 2028, with an estimated average of 27 hours per month.

Must Have

  • Auditing, ensuring, and implementing game accessibility standards (WCAG and ATAG 2.0).
  • Collaborating with the team (game designer, programmers, graphic designers) to ensure consistent project implementation and compliance with the core curriculum.
  • Integrating accessibility standards (WCAG) into gameplay design to adapt games for students with disabilities.
  • Documented experience in adapting educational materials for people with special educational needs.
  • 2 years of documented experience in auditing website accessibility for people with disabilities.
  • Documented experience in creating multimedia materials for people with special educational needs or using adapted multimedia.
  • Knowledge of the WCAG standard applicable on the date of application.
  • Confirmed English language proficiency at least B2 level (CEFR).

Studio The Knights of U (run by The Knights of Unity sp. z o.o.) is looking for a WCAG Specialist who is ready to join our knightly team in connection with the project no. FERS.01.04-IP.05-0017/25 titled "Interactive educational games supporting students' interdisciplinary competencies" (hereinafter referred to as "the Project"), under the European Funds for Social Development 2021-2027 program co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus. 🏰⚔️

Scope of Engagement:

1. From the moment of candidate selection and contract signing, for the duration of the Project, i.e., until September 30, 2028 (the Project has already started), for a total maximum of 960 clock hours, subject to point 2.

2. The total engagement specified in point 1 (maximum 960 clock hours) results from the Project funding application current as of the date of publication of this Announcement. We reserve that the Project implementation period began on October 1, 2025, and the actual hourly engagement may be less than assumed in the funding application and will be adjusted to the Project Work Schedule.

3. The estimated average monthly engagement is approximately 27 hours (960 h / 36 months). Actual engagement in individual months of Project implementation may vary and will depend on the Project Work Schedule and actual needs.

4. Services will be carried out in all 5 stages (tasks) of the Project, in accordance with the Project Schedule, i.e.:

  • Task 1 – Development of Game Design Document (Q4 2025 – Q1 2026)
  • Task 2 – Game Production Schedule (Q1 - Q3 2026)
  • Task 3 – Vertical Slice Production (Q3 2026 – Q2 2027)
  • Task 4 – Production and Testing of Beta Game Versions (Q2 2027 – Q1 2028)
  • Task 5 – Finalization of Production and Implementation of Educational Games (Q1 – Q3 2028)

We reserve the right to extend/shorten the above-mentioned service period by terms resulting from the Project funding agreement in consultation with the Intermediate Body (Ministry of National Education).

Expected form of employment: civil law contract (B2B/mandate contract/other).

Responsibilities:

  • Auditing, ensuring, and implementing game accessibility standards (in accordance with WCAG and ATAG 2.0).
  • Cooperation with the rest of the team (game designer, programmers, graphic designers, etc.) to ensure consistent implementation of Project assumptions and compliance of games with the core curriculum.
  • Considering accessibility standards (WCAG) when designing gameplay, so that games are adapted to the needs of students with disabilities.

When performing the above-mentioned duties, the WCAG Specialist is obliged to take into account the requirements specified in the appendices to the Recruitment Regulations no. FERS.01.04-IP.05-005/25 "Development of educational games for general education" available at the following address: https://efs.men.gov.pl/nabory/konkurs-opracowanie-gier-edukacyjnych-do-ksztalcenia-ogolnego-nr-fers-01-04-ip-05-005-25/ especially in:

  • "Educational Game Scenarios - Area 2" (appendix no. 14b to the Recruitment Regulations);
  • "General Functional and Technical Requirements for Educational Games" (appendix no. 11 to the Recruitment Regulations);
  • "Technical Documentation of Interactive Components" (appendix no. 12 to the Recruitment Regulations);

Requirements:

  • Documented experience in adapting educational materials for people with special educational needs;
  • 2 years of documented experience in auditing website accessibility for people with disabilities;
  • Documented experience in creating multimedia materials for people with special educational needs or using multimedia adapted to the needs and capabilities of people with disabilities in their work;
  • Knowledge of the WCAG standard applicable on the date of application of their candidacy;
  • Confirmed English language proficiency at least B2 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) - one of the games will be designed in English.

The requirements are defined based on the applicable minimum requirements for a person engaged in the position of WCAG Specialist in accordance with the competition documentation.

Place of Service Provision

Our headquarters: Pl. Strzelecki 25, 50-224 Wrocław.

Remote work is possible. Nevertheless, we reserve that if it is necessary to make project arrangements in a stationary form (no more than once a month), services will be provided at our headquarters.
