Job Description
SciPlay is a leading developer and publisher of digital games on mobile and web platforms. This Backend Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side code for mobile games, primarily in PHP. Key responsibilities include analyzing and eliminating server-side bottlenecks, contributing to new gameplay features, and collaborating within an Agile team. The role requires proficiency in technologies like SQL, Jenkins, HTML, JavaScript, and Python, along with at least 2 years of backend development experience.

- Design, implement, and maintain server-side code for mobile games.
- Analyze and eliminate server-side bottlenecks and errors.
- Develop new gameplay features and interfaces.
- Collaborate effectively using Agile methodologies.
- Work with SQL, Jenkins, HTML, JavaScript, and Python.
- Minimum 2 years of backend development experience.
- Proficiency in Git.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable server systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug server-side issues.
- Strong documentation skills for code and architecture.
Position Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain server-side code for a mobile game , primarily written in PHP.
- Analyze, identify, and eliminate bottlenecks and errors on the server-side to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Contribute to the development of new/innovative game play features and interfaces.
- Follow Agile methodologies to collaborate effectively within the team.
- Work with various technologies, including SQL, Jenkins, HTML, JS and Python.
- Contribute to the development of new and innovative gameplay features and interfaces.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in backend development
- PHP - advantage.
- Git proficiency.
- Fast learner.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable and high-performance server systems.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex server-side issues.
- Strong documentation skills for code, processes, and system architecture.
- Strong collaborative and proactive mindset with a sense of ownership.
- Enthusiasm for learning and growing in a dynamic game development environment.
