We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop, and maintain visually compelling and interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau. This role bridges business needs with technical solutions, empowering teams across the business to access actionable insights. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong business acumen and thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, ensuring they are both visually appealing and functionally robust
- Transform complex data sets into clear, actionable visualizations that effectively communicate insights to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
- Develop, construct, and support last-mile SQL transformations in dbt
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to dashboard functionality and data connections
- Co-manage our Zendesk ticketing system, coordinating the intake and resolution of stakeholder requests—including dashboard updates, ad-hoc reporting, and data query support—to ensure prompt and high-quality service delivery
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all dashboards and reports
- Contribute reusable components and templates to accelerate dashboard development across teams
- Monitor dashboard usage and performance, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement and optimization
- Support the development of self-service analytics capabilities, empowering business users to explore data independently
Essential Skills & Experience
- Expert in Tableau, with a proven track record of developing interactive dashboards using industry best practices
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into impactful dashboards and visualizations
- Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to improve queries for optimal dashboard performance
- Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts and dimensional modelling techniques (bonus: dbt experience)
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, AWS)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and development best practices
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing and resolving incoming support tickets, efficiently prioritizing and addressing user requests to ensure timely issue resolution (bonus: Zendesk experience)
- Customer-focused, with a passion for user experience and satisfaction
- Ability to work in agile, iterative environments an manage multiple priorities
- Driven, independent, and meticulous
Qualifications:
- 5+ years hands-on experience building dashboards in Tableau (advanced calculations, parameters, complex visualizations)
- 3+ years writing efficient and optimized SQL queries
- 1+ years building and maintaining data models
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics)
