Job Description

The Consumer Products Specialist plays a strategic role in developing the licensing-out business across Europe by managing a portfolio of licensees for Ubisoft brands. Their mission is to generate revenue to meet the financial objectives set by the Consumer Products Director. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing the European licensing strategy across various product categories, video game franchises, and business models (including, but not limited to, esports, Ubisoft Film & TV initiatives, and emerging technologies).

The ideal candidate will be an excellent ambassador for Ubisoft franchises, capable of effectively selling licenses while overseeing product planning, execution, and marketing development with partners. This role also demands strong international collaboration skills and the ability to navigate multicultural contexts to contribute to the growth of Ubisoft's Consumer Products business.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with existing licensees and identify new business opportunities.
  • Prospect new partners and actively promote Ubisoft brands across various product categories.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with local and international partners, in collaboration with agencies and the legal department, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Foster long-term relationships with licensees to drive sustainable mutual growth.
  • Coordinate with partner agencies to align their efforts with Ubisoft's strategy and goals.
  • Support licensees in preparing their proposals for distributors and develop strong relationships with the latter.
  • Promote Ubisoft brands to distributors to secure exclusive collaborations and high-value cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize growth opportunities within the licensing ecosystem.

Strategy

  • Define and implement, in collaboration with the Consumer Products Director, a global licensing strategy covering new video game launches, portfolio titles, esports, and Ubisoft Film & TV initiatives.
  • Maintain active market research on trends, competitive activities, and new strategic opportunities.

Financial Management

  • Monitor licensees' financial performance to ensure objectives are met while supporting them in their growth.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure rigorous account management.

Marketing and Events

  • Collaborate with marketing, strategic partnerships, brand development, and public relations teams to support licensees in their promotional initiatives.
  • Assist licensees in developing and executing marketing plans aligned with Ubisoft's major campaigns.
  • Oversee Ubisoft's participation in events such as Brand Licensing Europe, coordinating booth development with marketing, events, and creative teams.
  • Manage payments and ensure adherence to defined budgets.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in managing strategic partnerships and contract negotiations (minimum of 2 years of experience in the licensing industry as a licensee, licensor, or agent).
  • In-depth knowledge of trends in the licensing, entertainment, and new technology industries.
  • Strong ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven skills in marketing, product development, and budget management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative environment.
  • Bilingual in English.
