HP Canada Co. is looking for a minimum eight-month university co-op student to join the Consumer Sales Team.
The co-op student would be responsible for working closely with sales and category managers in Print and Personal Systems (PCs), on promotional sales tracking, forecasting and analyzing sales trends for Canada’s largest retail accounts (Best Buy, Costco, Walmart, Staples, Amazon). Special projects and presentations will be required on an "as needed" basis. This will require extracting data and creative thinking to concisely communicate meaningful recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preparing in-depth sales data reviews to evaluate promotions and presenting findings to the business in a way that is objective and useful.
· Collaborate closely with Sales, Category & Marketing Teams on projects and assignments.
· Act as liaison between Account Managers and major retail accounts collecting POE (Proof of Execution) for required marketing claims
· Extracting raw data from in-house systems, if required, and using Excel and PowerPoint to provide meaningful recommendations from the analysis.
· As you progress through the co-op term, you will use your knowledge of business issues, key customers, company practices, procedures and systems to co-ordinate and manage processes and projects.
· Utilizing academic knowledge to understand various business challenges in order to provide insights and recommendations to real world problems.
Education and Experience Required:
· Preferred 3rd Year of University completed or currently enrolled in a Master's program
· Knowledge/experience in Business with a focus on sales and marketing being an asset
· General Knowledge in Economics, Finance, and Statistics
Qualifications:
· Positive commitment to the business supported
· Knowledge of IT and interest in consumer technology is an asset
· Interest and familiarity with AI applications (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT)
· Goal oriented approach
· Skilled at Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook
· Thorough and organized with a strong attention to detail
· Creative, outside of the box thinking
· Ability to gather, organize and ANALYZE complex data from multiple sources
· Initiative, resourcefulness and high problem-solving aptitude
· Strong communication and relationship building skills
· Ability to manage a changing and challenging workload independently
· Customer focus: interact with HP personnel (all levels)
· Experience within retail would be considered an asset
