Job Description

You will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end lifecycle of index data management and research. This position is ideal for a data-driven professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for financial markets, who thrives on working with large, complex datasets and transforming them into actionable insights that support the development and evolution of global indices. Your work will extend into index research, contributing to the design, simulation, and evaluation of new and existing index methodologies.
Must have:
  • Profile and examine large datasets, providing analysis on patterns, consistency, and data quality.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by identifying and resolving discrepancies with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Develop and enhance business validation and data quality rules based on principles and patterns identified.
  • Provide in-depth analysis, meaningful insights, and concisely deliver main takeaways through data visualisation dashboards, reports, and presentations.
  • Document and capture analysis patterns, change requests, data attribute definitions, data mappings, and business validation rules.
  • Work with technology teams to support the development of software application solutions for data ingestion, analysis, and remediation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Financial Analytics, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Hands-on experience in SQL, Python, and data visualisation techniques and tools.

Job Details

You will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end lifecycle of index data management and research. This position is ideal for a data-driven professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for financial markets, who thrives on working with large, complex datasets and transforming them into actionable insights that support the development and evolution of global indices.

The selected candidate will be responsible for analysing, profiling, and validating large-scale financial datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and readiness for use in index construction and research. Over time, your work will extend into index research, where you will contribute to the design, simulation, and evaluation of new and existing index methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Profile and examine large datasets, and provide analysis on identified patterns, consistency, and data quality.
  • Ensure quality and integrity of data by identifying discrepancies and working towards resolving issues with business and technology stakeholders
  • Develop and enhance business validation and data quality rules based on principles and patterns identified.
  • Understand additional use cases for data quality, user interfaces, business intelligence dashboards, reports, and analytics for customers
  • Initiate, oversee, direct and/or coordinates data analysis projects requiring the collaboration of multiple team members, on single or multiple workstreams.
  • Provide in-depth analysis, meaningful insights and concisely deliver main takeaways both in verbal and written form to business and technology stakeholders through data visualisation dashboards, reports, and presentations.
  • Document and capture analysis patterns, change requests, data attribute definitions, data mappings, business validation rules data quality rules
  • Work with technology teams to support the development of software application solutions that address and automate data ingestion, analysis, and remediation of data
  • Co-ordinate with SME’s, operations, and technology teams to track cross-team dependencies that affect the delivery of data and data solutions
  • Seek continuous improvements to data analysis process and related tools and application
  • Assess the repeatability of solutions provided for client requirements.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Financial Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics.
  • Hands on experience in SQL, Python and data visualisation techniques and tools.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate stakeholders at a variety of levels.

Other Considerations

  • Exposure to business intelligence/analytics of financial data will be an added advantage.
