Job Description

As the Global Supply Chain Field Service Director for IDL Asia at McDonald’s, you will lead supply chain operations across International Developmental Licensee markets. Responsibilities include aligning the Asia Business Unit, Global Supply Chain, and market teams; fostering collaboration with suppliers; sharing best practices; strategic planning; and people development. You will support market growth, champion unified communication, and uphold supply chain brand standards. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to drive continuous improvement and innovation. You will also be responsible for market/supplier/partner management and development.

Job Description

As the Global Supply Chain Field Service Director for IDL Asia at McDonald’s, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our supply chain operations across our International Developmental Licensee markets (IDLs). Your proactive leadership and strategic vision will ensure seamless alignment between the Asia Business Unit, Global Supply Chain (GSC), and market-specific teams. By fostering collaboration with suppliers, your cross-functional business unit, and corporate functions, you will support market Supply Chain teams in delivering sustained value. Your expertise in best practice sharing, strategic planning, and people development will be crucial in enabling the success of our supply chain initiatives across all areas.   • Role-model and encourage McDonald’s values, three-legged stool philosophy, and GSC culture in the markets.
  • Promote and support market roadmap creation, communication, and execution of Supply Chain Digitization, Brand Trust initiatives, and actions that increase Supply Chain Resiliency.
  • Support market growth plans and long-term vision by providing market perspective in the development of GSC strategies; Include GSC perspective in market strategic planning process.

  • Promote use of GSC tools, resources, and knowledge that support development and training of employees.
  • Support talent management succession planning for key Supply Chain roles.
  • Provide markets access to Supplier Engagement tools and framework to support markets in their management of suppliers.
  • Facilitate best practice sharing across Field Service team, business units and markets.  
  • Embed and scale business priorities in markets plans and support their execution and vice versa. 
  • Champion consistent and unified GSC communication to the markets.
  • Act as the voice of GSC within your business unit and collaborate on cross-functional activities that drive business value and enable growth.
  • Promote markets to self-sufficiency through development, coaching and empowerment.

  • Uphold market compliance of supply chain brand standards - food safety, consumer product safety, quality, human rights, and sustainable sourcing.
  • Assess partner performance against supply chain standards via Business Reviews, market visits, and other tools as needed.
  • Provide business proposal consultation and direction.
  • Support issues management by serving as escalation point for markets and coordinating communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education: B.S. degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Strong track record of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, or Sustainability.
  • Proven track record in market/supplier/partner management and development.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to build trust and business relationships across all levels.
  • Demonstrated strategic approach to interactions with stakeholders.
  • Aptitude to deliver feedback in a constructive and positive way.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, including problem-solving capabilities.

Leadership Skills:

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the supply chain.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Understanding of global supply chain trends and best practices.
