Job Description

As a Supervisor, Parts Distribution Center in Memphis, TN, you will oversee and coordinate activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, inventory control, issuing, and shipping materials and parts. This role involves developing work plans, determining shipping priorities, and optimizing warehouse productivity using a Warehouse Management System. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of related experience, including 1-2 years in a leadership role, with strong knowledge of logistics, inventory, and safety regulations.

Must Have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two to four years of directly related experience with increasing responsibility
  • One to two years in a work leader role, coordinating the work of other employees or contractors.
  • Working knowledge of workflow management, logistics, inventory management, and warehousing functions.
  • Basic understanding of transportation management.
  • Familiarity with federal workplace safety regulations, federal transportation/shipment regulations, environmental protection regulations for hazardous waste and for multi-modal transportation, and international air shipment regulations

We are currently looking for a Supervisor, Parts Distribution Center, to join our team.

A Day in the Life:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventory control, issuing, and shipping materials and parts in the assigned parts distribution center. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Develops daily and weekly work plans and workflow. Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Supervises the scheduling, carrier departure, and transit times for inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments. Determines the routing and legal road limits of vehicles, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
  • Uses tools provided in the Warehouse Management System to continually improve part location assignments and enhance overall warehouse productivity. Identifies, recommends, and implements warehouse layout and operation improvements considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of parts or materials.
