Job Description

Joining Thales in Gémenos, you will integrate a site located between sea and Provençal hills, bringing together our digital identity and security activities and our defense activities combining both engineering and production, fostering a collaborative and friendly work environment. As an Electronic Failure Analysis Technician, your main missions include processing customer complaints, supporting manufacturing sites in case of product failure, performing root cause analysis through various tests, collaborating with experts, generating detailed 8D reports with improvement plans, and rigorously tracking actions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Must Have:
  • Process customer complaints and support manufacturing sites in case of product failure (hardware, software, application, or electrical).
  • Perform analyses to identify the root cause of defects by conducting various tests according to analysis protocols (physical, electrical, chemical, thermal, and mechanical).
  • Collaborate with experts and stakeholders, organize regular meetings to monitor progress and report on analyses performed.
  • Produce detailed reports using the 8D methodology, explaining the cause of the failure and proposing an improvement plan.
  • Rigorously follow up on actions to maintain customer satisfaction with respected deadlines.
  • Update failure analysis instructions for new failures or products, and archive results in dedicated databases and quality tools.
  • Bac+2 degree with good knowledge in electronics and physics.
  • Good practical knowledge of electronic components and associated analysis tools (oscilloscope, curve tracer, ISO protocol tester).
  • Mastery of electronic component communication protocols.
  • Fluent English (oral and written).
  • Excellent transversal communication skills.
  • Mastery of standard Quality tools (8D, FMEA, 5W etc.).
  • Customer-oriented and able to build trust.
  • Excellent communication to mobilize stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and sharing.

As an Electronic Failure Analysis Technician, your main missions are as follows:

  • Process customer complaints and support Thales manufacturing sites in case of product failure (hardware, software, application, or electrical).
  • Perform analyses to identify the root cause of defects by carrying out various tests in accordance with analysis protocols (physical, electrical, chemical, thermal, and mechanical).
  • Collaborate with experts and stakeholders, organize regular meetings to monitor progress and report on analyses performed.
  • Produce detailed reports according to the 8D methodology, explaining the cause of the failure and proposing an improvement plan agreed with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Rigorously follow up on actions to maintain customer satisfaction with respected deadlines.
  • Update failure analysis instructions for new failures or new products, and archive results in dedicated databases and quality tools.

Your profile

Holder of a Bac+2 degree, you have good knowledge in electronics and physics (good theoretical level expected).

You have good practical knowledge of electronic components and associated analysis tools (oscilloscope, curve tracer, ISO protocol tester).

You master the communication protocols of electronic components.

You have a fluent level of English (oral and written).

You are recognized for your excellent transversal communication skills to involve technical experts as needed and to share and escalate acquired knowledge.

You have an interest in laboratory chemistry.

You master standard Quality tools (8D, FMEA, 5W etc.).

You are customer-oriented and have the ability to build trust with our internal and external clients.

Endowed with excellent communication, you know how to mobilize stakeholders.

You demonstrate adaptability and sharing, allowing you to develop others and yourself.
