Job Description

The Brest site hosts Thales' digital services activities and expertise in development, integration, and maintenance for maritime patrol and surveillance systems, electronic warfare, sonar systems, and airborne anti-submarine warfare. Your missions include defining safety specifications, providing expertise during development, supporting software development teams to achieve defined safety levels, proving compliance of the design with safety requirements, estimating safety service costs, and executing studies within budget.
Must Have:
  • Define safety specifications by identifying safety requirements to develop a solution with controlled risks.
  • Provide expertise in development phases to influence the design.
  • Support software development teams to achieve defined software safety levels.
  • Prove or validate design compliance with identified safety requirements.
  • Elaborate cost estimates for safety services.
  • Execute studies within the planned budget.
  • Experience in risk management (Safety), software security, or complex system design.
  • Proficiency in AMDEC, Reliability and Probability calculations, RBD, FTA.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD 882, Def Stan 00-56, ARP 4754, CEI 61508.
  • Knowledge of CE marking and conformity requirements.
  • Knowledge in the fields of electronics / electromechanics / hydraulics.

Your missions:

  • Define safety specifications by identifying safety requirements to develop a solution with controlled risks.
  • Provide your expertise in the development phases to influence the design.
  • Support software development teams to achieve defined software safety levels.
  • Prove or validate design compliance with identified safety requirements.
  • Elaborate cost estimates for safety services.
  • Execute studies within the planned budget.

Your profile

You wish to work in collaboration with Hardware Engineering, System Engineering, and Software Engineering to obtain products compliant with regulatory requirements (European Directives) and specific program safety requirements.

With a background in Risk Management or Functional Safety Engineering, you have experience in:

  • Risk management (Safety), in software security or complex system design.
  • FMEA, Reliability and Probability calculations, RBD, FTA.
  • MIL-STD 882, Def Stan 00-56, ARP 4754, CEI 61508.
  • CE marking and conformity requirements.
  • Knowledge in the fields of electronics / electromechanics / hydraulics.
