Job Description

This role involves designing and implementing process improvement tactics, utilizing lean manufacturing methods, and leading continuous improvement projects. Responsibilities include collecting data, conducting work studies, developing training programs, standardizing processes, maintaining KPI targets, and managing new projects to optimize resource use and enhance quality, capacity, lead time, inventory, and safety.

  • Computer experience (Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, AutoCAD/3D modeling)
  • Lean Manufacturing/Lean Transformation experience
  • Knowledge of 6-Sigma methodologies and Kaizen
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies & system planning
  • Proven ability to self-manage and deliver projects on time to budget
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and flexible approach

Department Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for supporting ongoing operations in the Elgin, IL facility. The team has ownership for all internal manufacturing processes and manufacturing quality.

Job Description

  • Design and implement process improvement tactics that incorporate people, systems, equipment, materials, and space to optimize use of all resources.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing methods, procedures, and plans that drive continuous improvement opportunities in quality, capacity, lead time, inventory, and safety through lean problem-solving methodologies.
  • Collect data and performs work studies to improve operational effectiveness
  • Develop and conduct training programs to promote efficient and effective personnel and equipment use.
  • Be responsible for managing and leading continuous improvement projects
  • Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of metrics and best practices
  • Work with Quality and Test Teams to deliver a robust and cost-effective end to end process.
  • Maintain KPI targets in line with business strategy & objectives.
  • Project manage new projects within scope (Plant / Department or Area) while ensuring timeline and target accomplishment (which includes savings or additional impact calculation and approvals, projects documentation and 12 months tracking for sustainability)
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Quality Skills:

  • Cross-functional team environment experience preferred
  • Computer experience to include Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and AutoCAD/3D modeling or similar software
  • Lean Manufacturing/Lean Transformation experience
  • Knowledge of 6-Sigma methodologies and Kaizen
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certification ideal, but not mandatory
  • Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies & system planning
  • Proven ability to self-manage and deliver projects on time to budget
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationship internally and externally
  • Reliable and flexible in their approach
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

Basic Requirements
