Job Description

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for comprehensively carrying out safety and health management tasks, implementing strategies to ensure a safe work environment for colleagues and customers, and securing full compliance with H&M Group standards and Korean legal requirements like SAPA. You will also manage budgets, conduct risk assessments, maintain local safety legislation compliance, and lead training initiatives to foster safety knowledge across the organization, working closely with internal departments and external authorities.
Must have:
  • Establish and manage the budget for health and safety activities
  • Develop an industrial accident prevention plan
  • Serve as the registered representative director with authority to perform duties as a Responsible Management Personnel under SAPA
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, implement preventive measures, and ensure effective systems for incident recording and monitoring
  • Maintain compliance with all local safety legislation, including K-OSHA
  • Manage relations with local authorities and third-party contractors
  • Lead, coach, and support all colleagues, providing up-to-date training
  • Foster a feedback culture to build safety knowledge across the organization
  • Qualified as Safety Manager according to Article 17, Table 4 of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Safety and Health Act
  • Qualified as Health Manager according to Article 21, Table 6 of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Safety and Health Act
  • Hold a professional license (Industrial Safety Engineer certification) or qualified to be appointed as a Safety Manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related technical field
  • Experience in EHS compliance and program management
  • Experience in industrial safety and health budget management and analysis
  • Experience in industrial safety and health training in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act
  • Experience in conducting independent external audits

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will be appointed to comprehensively carry out safety and health management tasks within the workplace. You will implement a strategy to ensure a safe work environment for colleagues and an environment where customers can shop without fear of accident or injury, while securing full compliance with both H&M Group standards and Korean legal requirements, including the SAPA.

You will:

  • Establish and manage the budget for health and safety activities and develop an industrial accident prevention plan.
  • Serve as the registered representative director with the authority to perform duties as a Responsible Management Personnel under SAPA.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, implement preventive measures, and ensure effective systems are in place for incident recording and monitoring.
  • Maintain compliance with all local safety legislation, including K-OSHA, and manage relations with local authorities and third-party contractors.
  • Lead, coach, and support all colleagues, providing up-to-date training and fostering a feedback culture to build safety knowledge across the organization.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As the Health and Safety Manager, you'll work closely with colleagues and departments within the company. You'll work with local authorities like K-OSHA and the Ministry of Employment and Labour as well. Your goal is to secure full compliance with all regulations and ensure a safe work environment for everyone.

This role will be reporting to the Expansion Manager during the initial transition period.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for people with a deep understanding of safety and compliance, including:

  • Education:
  • Safety Manager: A person who is qualified according to Article 17, Table 4 of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
  • Health Manager: A person who is qualified according to Article 21, Table 6 of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
  • You hold a professional license (Industrial Safety Engineer certification) or are qualified to be appointed as a Safety Manager under the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related technical field is also required.
