Role Purpose
The Key Account Manager, Southeast Asia is responsible for driving revenue growth and customer success in Thailand and across Southeast Asia by managing key accounts and partners. This role focuses on growing sales in traditional ELT market, as well as exploring new opportunities in wider education industry. The role is the key person to promote and sell all products and services, including print and digital blended products, licensing, government partnership projects and digital solutions.
The role will focus on:
- Support and work closely with Head of Southeast Asia to identify, develop sales strategy to expand Macmillan Education’s presence
- Growth and retention of key accounts in ELT and wider education market in the assigned territories to achieve annual sales targets
- Identify new opportunities and acquire new customers in the region, especially in digital, licensing and partnerships
Key Responsibilities
Key Account Management to Drive Sales
- Establish and manage relationships with key institutional accounts across Southeast, with a primary focus in Thailand.
- Develop sales pipeline plans to grow and retain adoption in ELT and wider education market.
- Ensure customer success through consistent engagement, support and training.
Business Development & Customer Acquisition
- Identify, research and target new opportunities in emerging segments (digital solutions, licensing, partnerships) in K12 and Adult segments.
- Develop targeted acquisition strategies for new business models and products.
- Negotiate and secure new agreements that align with the company strategy.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Gather insights on customer needs, competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy.
- Work closely with regional sales and marketing teams to execute growth initiatives.
- Contribute to strategy and segmentation reviews, support strategic planning for Thailand and Southeast Asia growth targets
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and all other SEA markets to share best practices and leverage regional opportunities.
- Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline and forecasts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, Education, or related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in B2B key account management and business development. ELT/education sector sales experience desired Digital learning work experience an advantage.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work across multiple markets and adapt to diverse business environments.
- Fluent English; Thai language an advantage.
- Self-motivated, result-driven, and able to work independently with regional collaboration.
Success Measures
- Achieving assigned sales targets in Thailand and wider Southeast Asia markets.
- Acquisition of new customers and entry into new segments, especially for digital, licensing and partnerships products.
- Strengthened customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
