This Lead System Engineer role supports enterprise-wide initiatives focusing on secure email architecture, Microsoft 365 administration, and data governance. The position requires deep technical expertise in email security protocols like DKIM, DMARC, SPF, and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Purview modules. Responsibilities include providing L3/L4 support for M365 apps, managing user accounts, designing and maintaining secure email systems, and ensuring the security, availability, and performance of enterprise directory and collaboration infrastructure.
Must Have:
  • Provide level 3/4 support to all productivity and collaboration apps in M365.
  • Manage user accounts, licenses, and group policies through Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure email systems using DKIM, DMARC, and SPF protocols.
  • Implement and manage all modules within Microsoft Purview.
  • Support Teams voice and collaboration features.
  • Required to provide On-Call support during off-duty hours.
  • Support and administer Proofpoint email gateway and security platforms.
  • 8+ years of work experience in enterprise IT environments with a focus on Microsoft 365 and email security.
  • Proven experience administering Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Purview modules.
  • 1+ year working experience with Azure Cloud.
  • Understanding of M365 compliance, data retention, and governance best practices.

  • The Lead System Engineer role will support enterprise-wide initiatives focused on secure email architecture, Microsoft 365 administration, and data governance. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in email security protocols and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Purview modules.

Scope:

  • Receives work assignments through the “ticketing system” or from Lead Administrators or management.
  • Provide level 3/4 support to all productivity and collaboration apps in M365 as part of a global escalation support model and coordinate as needed with the technology vendors where you may need to perform Root Cause Analysis and recommend process improvements.
  • Manage user accounts, licenses, and group policies through Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure email systems using DKIM, DMARC, and SPF protocols.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure secure relay configurations and policy enforcement.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security and vendors to integrate Microsoft 365 with other systems and applications
  • Ensures our enterprise directory and collaboration infrastructure's security, availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Experience in enterprise Design and implement unified communications and collaboration solutions using Microsoft 365 products and services, such as Teams, SharePoint, Exchange and OneDrive.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 issues and incidents and provide root cause analysis and resolution
  • Configure and manage SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint On-Premises environments.
  • Perform regular system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Manage SharePoint site collections, permissions, and user accounts.
  • Implement and maintain SharePoint governance policies and standards.
  • Implement and manage all modules within Microsoft Purview, including Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, and eDiscovery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define crawl-walk-run phases and ensure data readiness for AI integration.
  • Monitor Copilot performance and user experience, providing feedback and improvement plans.
  • Lead auto-labeling policy design and testing across classic and modern SharePoint sites
  • Support site remediation and modernization efforts, including legacy-to-modern SharePoint migrations.
  • Support Teams voice and collaboration features, including telephony and meeting solutions.
  • Required to provide On-Call support during off-duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays on a scheduled/rotating basis.
  • Support and administer Proofpoint email gateway and security platforms.
  • Knowledge of email delivery principles and authentication, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize security vulnerabilities in Windows or Linux server environments.
  • High-Level critical user terminations (Sr. VPs, CXOs, etc.) on immediate basis
  • Exchange Resource Room management for bookings

Our current technical environment:

  • Tools: Proofpoint, Duo Circle,
  • M365 products: exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Copilot and Microsoft Purview
  • Protocols: DKIM, DMARC, and SPF
  • Programming languages: Python, PowerShell, and Shell scripting
  • Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (Terraform, ARM templates, AKS, Virtual Networks, Azure AD)

What you’ll do:

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or engineering related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of work experience enterprise IT environments with a focus on Microsoft 365 and email security.
  • Proven experience administering Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Purview modules.
  • 1+ year working experience with Azure Cloud.
  • Willing to work under different technologies and take up new technology responsibilities outside the core skills
  • SharePoint Environment Administration, support and troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge on any scripting like Python, Bash Shell, PowerShell, etc.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of professionals.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to act independently to drive IT goals and changes
  • Advanced troubleshooting methodology
  • Ability to judge priorities and adjust their work accordingly
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
  • Understanding of M365 compliance, data retention, and governance best practices.
  • Good Knowledge on ticketing tools like ServiceNow.
