Progress is seeking a skilled and organized Legal Operations Specialist to join their legal and administrative team supporting Progress Federal Solutions, Inc. (PFS). This remote role focuses on ensuring the operational effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency of PFS's legal and business functions within the US federal and SLED contracting landscape. Responsibilities include managing subsidiary governance, contract lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and internal legal workflows. The specialist will work closely with senior leadership and legal counsel to develop and enhance policies, processes, and systems, ensuring PFS operates seamlessly and in alignment with the corporate parent. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide meaningful input and take ownership of legal operations for a growing federal contracting entity.
Must have:
  • 2-4 years legal operations experience in government contracting
  • Experience improving legal/compliance processes, policies, systems
  • Understanding of federal contracting regulations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

We are seeking a skilled, organized, and curious Legal Operations Specialist to join our legal and administrative team supporting the company’s wholly-owned and cleared subsidiary, Progress Federal Solutions, Inc. (“PFS”). This role is critical to ensuring the operational effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency of PFS’ legal and business functions in the complex landscape of US federal and SLED contracting. As the Legal Operations Specialist for PFS, you will work closely with senior leadership, legal counsel, and business teams to develop, enhance, and support policies, processes, and systems that support the organization’s compliance, governance, and operational goals. You will be responsible for driving improvements in subsidiary governance, contract lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and internal legal and compliance workflows—ensuring that PFS operates seamlessly within the US federal contracting environment and in a manner that is aligned with our corporate parent.

In this role, you will: 

  • Serve as the legal operations lead for PFS, working under the supervision of and closely with the General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer to support management and oversight of all subsidiary governance, compliance, and risk management processes. 
  • Assist in the review, development, and implementation of legal and operational policies that align with federal contracting requirements, corporate governance best practices, and business objectives. 
  • Research and support optimization of PFS contract lifecycle management (CLM) and other business processes, ensuring efficient tracking, negotiation, and execution of PFS contracts and subcontracts in alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements. 
  • Assist in developing metrics, setting up monitoring elements, and management of internal legal and compliance systems and processes, including document retention, policy updates, and reporting workflows. 
  • Work cross-functionally with Progress and PFS finance, HR, security, and operations teams to ensure legal and regulatory alignment across all aspects of the subsidiary’s operations. 
  • Support regulatory audits, contract compliance reviews, and reporting obligations under federal contracting laws and regulations. 
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk. 
  • Assist with various PFS corporate secretarial tasks.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business teams, providing guidance on risk mitigation, compliance best practices, and contractual obligations.

Your background: 

  • 2-4 years’ experience in legal operations within a government contracting environment, preferably in the software or technology industry.
  • Experience and demonstrable ability to implement and improve legal and compliance processes, policies, and systems.
  • Understanding of and/or experience with federal contracting regulations, subsidiary governance, and legal operations best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Prior experience managing contract workflows, compliance programs, and subsidiary governance matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of AI productivity tools.

Compensation Range: $59,500 - $73,500
This position is also eligible to participate in our performance-based annual corporate bonus plan. Final base compensation is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, education, demonstrable experience, and allowance for future and continued salary growth.
