Job Description

Machine Operator II is responsible for the setup and operation of a production machine. This role ensures the final product meets customer expectations by securing and maintaining necessary materials and supplies. The operator feeds the machine safely and efficiently, monitors it for quality, and stacks completed products according to procedures. Responsibilities include operating hand tools for assembly, maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area, completing pre-shift equipment inspection checklists, and maintaining production records. The job also involves checking materials and finished products for compliance with standards and performing duties consistent with safety and quality procedures. Preventive maintenance may also be required, and participation in safety and continuous improvement programs is expected.

Job Summary

Machine Operator II is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures final product meets customer expectations. Secures and maintains material and supplies required for the operation according to production sheets.
  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
  • Continually watches the machine to ensure quality.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band componentsfinish product.
  • Operates hand tools to complete assembly process.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes preshiftstartup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • May perform preventive maintenance as specified.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly/Salary Pay Range:  $20.00 - $22.00 hourly. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by experience and other job-related factors.

Bonus/Incentive Pay:  Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses.  A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
