Job Description
FanCode is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manager for its Legal team. The role involves supporting the legal operations of an e-commerce platform, including licensing, merchandising, distribution, and compliance. The candidate will also advise on sports broadcast operations, media rights acquisition, ad sales, and marketing. Responsibilities include IP monitoring, enforcement, litigation advice, risk highlighting, building legal structures, and improving legal processes. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in e-commerce, licensing, and IP advisory, collaborating with business teams and external counsels.
Must have:
- 5 years post-qualification experience
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law
- Experience in drafting and negotiating high value deals
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage high volumes within strict timelines
- Ability to translate complex issues into simple language
Good to have:
- Working knowledge of FDI and e-commerce regulations
- Experience in business and legal structuring
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Passion for sports

Role Overview:
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Manager to join our Legal team at FanCode. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in handling e-commerce, licensing and IP advisory. As a FanCoder in our legal team, you will get an opportunity to engage with business teams, external counsels and counter-parties to help FanCode manage its rapidly growing legal needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting legal operations of the e-commerce platform (including licensing & merchandising, listing, distribution, compliance checks etc.)
- Advising the sports broadcast operations of the business (including acquisition of media rights, ad sales, marketing etc.)
- IP monitoring, enforcement and strategy
- Advising on litigation matters
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and highlighting risks on day-to-day advisory
- Building a robust legal and compliance structure for FanCode
- Enabling the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes
Must haves:
- 5 years of post-qualification experience in an e-commerce company/ media company/ reputed law firm (preference will be be given to candidates from a commerce background)
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law
- Experience in drafting and negotiating high value deals
- Attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes within strict timelines
- Ability to translate complex issues into simple language for internal stakeholders
Good to haves:
- Working knowledge of applicable FDI and e-commerce regulations
- Experience in business and legal structuring
