Job Description

The Toulouse site is responsible for satellite system engineering, design, and production of payloads, and development of ground segments. This role is within the Industry department's Methods service, focusing on industrialization, launch, and production monitoring of electronic equipment. As a Microelectronic Method Technician for DMS products, you will participate in industrialization, optimize production flow, manage technical production files, assist manufacturing, handle unforeseen events, and ensure consistency of production times.

  • Basic training in electronics (with the possibility of working on electronic sub-assemblies).
Must Have:
  • Participate in the industrialization of THALES DMS products, optimizing performance, cost, time, and quality.
  • Optimize the production flow-chart using a Lean Manufacturing approach.
  • Be responsible for the technical production file and its timely availability, including necessary tools.
  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage the processing of unforeseen events by meeting Q6 requirements.
  • Ensure consistency of production times, update time standards, and maintain coherence.
  • Analyze deviations between allocated and actual cycles, proposing modifications if needed.
  • Hold a technician qualification: BTS / DUT / Professional License.
  • Possess significant experience in this function with good knowledge of the business.
  • Have technical skills in mechanics, reading plans, workshop sheets, component supply specifications, and notions of electronics.
  • Be rigorous, have good team spirit, and adaptability.
  • Be capable of quickly learning new tools.
  • Have a good level of English for reading technical documents.

Your daily life

The Toulouse site is responsible for satellite system engineering, the design and production of payloads, as well as the development and qualification of ground segments. It integrates a research center and an industrial accelerator for start-ups and ventures.

Located in Toulouse, within the Industry department, you will be integrated into the Methods service, which is responsible for the industrialization, launch, and production monitoring of all equipment developed by the Electronic Competence Center.

The service consists of approximately 30 people, engineers, and method technicians. The teams collaborate closely with all production sectors (mechanics, card wiring, hybrids, equipment assembly, tests), electronic designers, as well as engineers and technicians from various design offices.

In a context of high workload, we are looking for a Microelectronic Method Technician responsible for DMS products.

Your missions:

  • Participate in the industrialization of THALES DMS products by guiding choices towards the best compromise of performance, cost, time, and quality.
  • Optimize the production flow-chart using a Lean Manufacturing approach.
  • Be the technical manager of the production file and its timely availability, including the tools necessary for manufacturing, testing, and acceptance.
  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing to ensure its smooth operation.
  • Manage the processing of unforeseen events by meeting the requirements of Q6 routines.
  • Ensure the consistency of production times; you are responsible for updating the time standard and must maintain coherence between allocated range and spent time.
  • Also analyze deviations between allocated and actual cycles and propose modifications if necessary.

Your profile:

Do you have a technician qualification: BTS / DUT / Professional License?

Do you have significant experience in this function, a good knowledge of the business and interactions with upstream and downstream sectors, allowing you to be quickly operational in the role of Methods Technician?

Basic training in electronics would be a plus (possibility of working on electronic sub-assemblies).

Technical skills in: mechanics, reading plans, workshop sheets, component supply specifications, and notions of electronics are required.

You are rigorous, have good team spirit, and good adaptability.

You are capable of quickly learning new tools.

Do you have a good level of English? (Reading technical documents)
