KSHB, the NBC affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a News Photographer to capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms. This role involves working with newsroom personnel to develop stories, operating various news gathering equipment, and utilizing graphics software. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling and creating memorable moments for viewers, joining an award-winning station with strong leadership.
Must have:
  • Work closely with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
  • Operate various news gathering equipment, including microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment.
  • Drive company vehicle for business purposes.
  • Utilize graphics software packages for enhanced editing and appealing visual content.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgement, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to the station's websites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance.
Good to have:
  • Associate degree in related discipline.
  • Generally 5+ years of experience in related field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Associate degree in related discipline preferred
  • Generally 5+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgement, journalistic ethics and libel laws
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to the station's websites
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company's required insurance limits
