Job Description

Zeeco seeks a Production Engineer in Wada to monitor project progress, prepare catch-up plans for delayed jobs, and coordinate project materials and shortfalls. The role involves coordinating with production, planning, and purchasing departments for equipment follow-up, managing subcontracting activities and inspections, and evaluating daily production progress. Responsibilities include planning daily/weekly/monthly production work, developing new vendors, participating in ISO audits, maintaining ISO systems, and preparing daily work reports and schedules. The engineer will also prepare manufacturing schedules, plate cutting layouts, material requisitions, and lists of balance materials. Monitoring and maintaining billing status, coordinating blasting and painting activities, and conducting project review meetings with vendors are also key duties. The role requires sending inquiries, obtaining technical offers, evaluating techno-commercial comparisons, and converting them into purchase orders below estimated costs. Timely coordination with purchase order owners for smooth manufacturing flow, handling outsourcing processes (machining, fabrication, heat treatment, etc.), and scheduling various processes are essential. Raw material planning for fabrication at vendor shops, preparing drawings, negotiating prices and delivery schedules, and conducting vendor visits with quality checks are also part of the job. Cross-functional coordination to resolve job-related queries and subcontracting job components requiring machining are included. Management of fabricated subcontract jobs, making rate contracts, and developing new vendors are expected. Any other activity related to production and planning within the Wada factory and vendor premises, along with other assigned tasks, will be undertaken.

Job Responsibilities & Expectations:

    • Monitoring actual progress against planned activities for each project.
    • Preparing catch up plans for jobs that are delayed / slipping.
    • Coordinating, arranging, and accounting for Project materials, and shortfalls.
    • Coordination with production, planning and purchase for follow up of equipment.
    • Manage sub-contracting activities and inspections at their locations.
    • Evaluate daily production progress and shortfalls.
    • Plan daily/weekly/monthly Production work activities.
    • Development of new vendors and expediting activities.
    • Participate in ISO audits and meetings.
    • Maintain ISO systems and records.
    • Daily work reports and scheduling.
    • Preparation of Manufacturing Schedules, Plate Cutting Layouts
    • Preparation of Material Requisitions, and List of Balance Materials for jobs at Wada and at vendors premises.
    • Monitor and maintain billing status monthly.
    • Coordinate for Blasting and Painting activities - till related Officers is appointed.
    • Conduct Project Review meet with vendors.
    • Send enquiries & getting technical offers against Critical Bill of Materials, Consolidated materials list, same must be getting approved with concern internal customer.
    • To evaluate and prepare Techno-commercial comparisons of quotes received against enquiries floated & convert same into purchase order below to estimated cost.
    • Timely coordination with the respective owners of Purchase order for smooth flow of manufacturing.
    • In handling all outsourcing process comes under Conventional Machining, fabrication, structural fabrication, heat treatment process, sand blasting, powder coating & sheet Metal works.
    • Scheduling of processes and activities (Fabricating, Machining, Heat Treatment, Shot/ Sand blasting, Shroud & Dished ends Forming, Gear & Pinion m/c etc.).
    • Raw material planning for fabrication at vendor shop.
    • Preparation of drawings, sketches & data required for the job work.
    • Negotiation with vendors regarding the price & delivery schedule of the job.
    • Conduct periodical visits to the vendors along with quality checks.
    • Cross Functional Co-ordination with various department to solve job related queries of vendors.
    • Subcontracting of job components requiring machining (Ex: VTL, horizontal boring, hobbing m/c, plano miller,lathe, slotting m/c, milling m/c. etc.)
    • Management of fabricated subcontract jobs with Vendor comparison, negotiation, project schedule, design & quality related queries, material sending data for reconciliation of balance materials.
    • Making rate contracts and managing vendors for shot blasting, machining, SR etc.
    • Development of new vendors for existing jobs as well as for new developmental works.
    • Any other activity related with production and planning activities within the Wada factory and various vendors premises.
    • Other tasks as assigned.

You would be a great fit if you had:

    • B.E./B.Tech degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
    • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience working in a manufacturing background which involves fabrication of items related to combustion equipment.
    • Willing to relocate to the vicinity of the manufacturing unit.
