Job Description

As a Project Specialist in the Project Management – Digital Intelligence team, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within agreed scope, cost, and deadline, monitoring project indicators, applying the most coherent and appropriate project management methodology, and managing change requests. You will also coordinate communication with clients, study project scope, plan project areas, monitor progress across all phases (Engineering, Supply, Manufacturing, Construction, Commissioning, Assisted Operation, and finalization), prepare progress reports, manage costs, revenues, profitability, and define implementation strategies with segment leaders.

  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, cost, and deadline.
  • Monitor project indicators.
  • Apply the most coherent and appropriate project management methodology.
  • Receive, evaluate, and execute change requests.
  • Interface communication and coordination with clients during project execution.
  • Study project scope in detail, focusing on Work Packages (deliverables) and required activities.
  • Plan project areas under your responsibility by developing a detailed schedule.
  • Monitor and control progress of your areas of responsibility throughout all project phases.
  • Prepare physical progress curves and Progress Reports for clients and internal reports.
  • Complete project management with cost, revenue, and profitability monitoring.
  • Coordination of client interface and communication.
  • Control and monitoring of schedules and dependencies (internal and with client).
  • Definition and execution of implementation strategies with segment leaders.
  • Contract Management.
  • Scope Management with Segment Leaders (Requirements and Documentation).

Who will you work with?

You will work in Wabtec's Digital Intelligence Project Management team with highly capable, motivated people who lead the digital revolution in the global railway market.

How will you make a difference?

As a Project Specialist in the Project Management – Digital Intelligence team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed scope, cost, and deadline, monitoring project indicators, applying the most coherent and appropriate project management methodology for the project context and the company's moment, receiving, evaluating, and executing change requests, among others.

In addition, it is the Project Specialist's responsibility to manage communication and coordination interfaces with the client during project execution.

Detailed study of the project scope, focusing on Work Packages (deliverables) and activities required for its execution under your responsibility:

  • Perform the planning of the project areas under your responsibility by elaborating its detailed schedule developed from the definition, duration, and sequencing of its activities. Similarly, ensure that project milestones, including those identified as standard (revenue recognition / collections / payment) are duly incorporated into the schedule;
  • Monitor and control the progress of your areas of responsibility within the project in all its phases: Engineering, Supply, Manufacturing, Construction, Commissioning, Assisted Operation, and finalization, aiming to monitor physical progress and the fulfillment of project activities, as well as receipt and billing events as planned;
  • Prepare physical progress curves and Progress Reports for clients and also internal reports, according to defined guidelines and frequency.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Higher education in Engineering/Business Administration, Economics;
  • Experience in Project Management;
  • Experience in Software Development Projects;
  • Focus on sustainable results delivery, supported by mature processes and people development;
  • High communication and persuasion skills;
  • Client relationship management skills;
  • Ability to work in dynamic and challenging environments where quality and delivery time are of fundamental importance for customer satisfaction;
  • Fluent English;
  • Knowledge of project management software (MsProject, Primavera, etc);
  • Advanced knowledge of PMI and/or IPMA project management methodologies;
  • Availability for frequent travel;
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies;
  • PMP or IPMA certification (desirable).
