Job Description

Philips Emergency Care is seeking a Project Manager to lead and orchestrate the delivery of innovative software programs, driving key Informatics initiatives. This role involves executing multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and resources. The manager will foster team collaboration, resolve issues creatively, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities include ensuring customer centricity, delivering business impact through innovative solutions, and continuous improvement in project management skills. The role requires understanding technical concepts and working across geographies.
Must have:

  • Prepare and implement complex projects within agreed-upon specifications, timelines, budgets, and staffing.
  • Execute improvement projects, resolving issues creatively, and driving improvements within the discipline.
  • Resolve a wide range of issues creatively, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
  • Develop broad knowledge of project management methodologies, organizational structures, and end-to-end processes.
  • Provide effective team collaboration by fostering a positive and inclusive team environment, delegating tasks, and ensuring clear communication.
  • Ensure customer centricity by demonstrating deep understanding of customer needs and incorporating feedback.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring alignment.

Job Details

Emergency Care Business:

In late January, we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025.

With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.

Your role:

The Innovation Project Manager is responsible for executing multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and resource constraints, potentially overseeing projects, resolving issues creatively and selecting appropriate methods for solutions, fostering effective team collaboration, delegating tasks, leveraging strengths, and ensuring clear communication, working under limited supervision.

The role demonstrates customer centricity by understanding customer needs, incorporating feedback, and ensuring solutions meet requirements, builds strong relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring alignment on objectives. The role delivers business impact through innovative solutions supporting organizational goals, while continuous improvement is ensured by seeking skill enhancement opportunities and sharing knowledge.

  • Executes multi-disciplinary projects, independently managing innovation projects, and ensuring alignment with agreed timelines, budgets, and resource constraints to support Informatics strategy.
  • Prepares and implements complex projects within agreed-upon specifications, timelines, budgets, and staffing, managing a project team as part of a larger initiative to deliver key parts of a main end-to-end process.
  • Executes improvement projects, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods initiating change and driving improvements within the discipline, working under limited supervision.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Develops a broad knowledge of project management methodologies, relevant organizational structures, and end-to-end processes, applying advanced planning methods and estimation techniques (resources, time, and risk) specific to the design discipline.
  • Provides effective team collaboration by fostering a positive and inclusive team environment, motivating and guiding team members from diverse backgrounds, effectively delegating tasks, leveraging individual strengths, and ensuring clear communication across all project phases.
  • Ensures customer centricity by demonstrating a deep understanding of customer needs throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating customer feedback into project iterations, and ensuring the final solution effectively addresses identified needs.
  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and senior management, proactively managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring all parties are aligned on project objectives.
  • Delivers business impact by driving projects that deliver innovative solutions with tangible benefits for the organization (e.g., new business processes, product enhancements, or supporting short-term business goals).
  • Ensures continuous improvement by constantly seeking opportunities to improve project management skills and team processes, utilizing PMBok and SAFe guidelines to guide project execution, and actively participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization.
  • Documents project knowledge by developing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future reference and knowledge transfer.
  • Cultivates effective relationships, shares knowledge, and provides influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating full understanding of area of specialization.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand technical concepts and effectively communicate with technical team members to facilitate clear understanding of project goals and requirements.
  • Working across geographies to formulate strategies/proposals across functions, cooperating with functional managers, department heads and balancing other programs’ needs – This may be repetitive in terms of working with stakeholders. need to highlight working with multiple geographies

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline
  • 8+ years in Engineering / R&D Project and Program management in areas such as Portfolio Management, Innovation Management or equivalent
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of electronics and design aspects of medical devices.
  • Good understanding of medical device hardware/ software concepts and familiarity with standard methodologies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills showing ownership and successful completion of complex projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong experience with project governance and a methodical approach to manage multiple parallel projects and programs.
  • Strong ability to work cross-culturally in a global environment with geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, attention to detail and initiative.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
