Security Engineer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Security Engineer (Tier 2) for a hybrid role in Mountain View, CA. This is a 4 to 6-month contract opportunity with a leading tech company known for its cutting-edge digital products.

In this role, you’ll join the Application Security team to design and deploy scalable security controls and automation that protect applications and services across the company. The organization fosters a collaborative and forward-thinking culture with a strong focus on innovation and security.

Security Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and deploy baseline security controls across all applications and services.

• Build security guardrails to eliminate entire classes of vulnerabilities at scale.

• Automate and scale the security review process.

• Partner with engineering teams to integrate secure development practices, review third-party tools, and remediate vulnerabilities.

• Support incident response efforts with architectural input and recommendations.

Security Engineer Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in application security, software development, or security architecture roles.

• Experience building automated security tools in Python or Go.

• Deep knowledge of secure system design, authentication, and authorization.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
