Netflix is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our growing Netflix Ads team in Japan. This role is a critical partner to Sales and cross-functional stakeholders, responsible for managing our most strategic client and agency relationships. The Senior Account Manager will focus on advertiser retention and growth while leading the full pre-to-post sale campaign workflow. A key part of the role is demonstrating strong problem-solving skills — engaging directly with clients, anticipating challenges, and driving long-term solutions through clear communication and strategic account planning. This position requires balancing commercial strategy with operational excellence, ensuring Netflix Ads is seen as a trusted, solutions-oriented partner to our advertisers.
Must Have:
  • Manage top and strategic accounts, drive revenue growth.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for campaign escalations.
  • Partner with Sales to understand client goals.
  • Host weekly Pipeline & Pacing meetings.
  • Build Strategic Media Plans, contribute to RFP responses.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on custom creative assets.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers in other regions.
  • Work closely with Campaign Management and Ad Operations.
  • Oversee Ad Campaigns delivery performance, partner on optimization.
  • Provide clients with campaign performance, post-campaign reports.
  • Navigate campaign escalations, contribute to long-term solutions.
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of Netflix Ad products and policies.
  • Contribute to monthly billing & invoicing process.
  • Establish strong working relationships with client and agency partners.
  • Extensive experience in Account Management/Sales Planning, video advertising focus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, direct client engagement.
  • Experience with Sales Operation systems (CRM, OMS, Ad Servers).
  • Strong knowledge of digital media sales and marketplaces.
  • Proven track record in advertiser retention and growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Familiarity with advertising research and verification vendors.
  • Fluency in Japanese, effective English communication.

The Senior Account Manager will focus on advertiser retention and growth while leading the full pre-to-post sale campaign workflow. A key part of the role is demonstrating strong problem-solving skills — engaging directly with clients, anticipating challenges, and driving long-term solutions through clear communication and strategic account planning.

This position requires balancing commercial strategy with operational excellence, ensuring Netflix Ads is seen as a trusted, solutions-oriented partner to our advertisers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage our top and strategic accounts in partnership with Sales team and driving revenue growth
  • Serve as the first point of contact for campaign-related escalations, resolving issues in partnership with cross-functional teams before they require management intervention
  • Partner with aligned Sales Partners and/or Sr. Sales Partners to understand client goals and objectives in order to deliver excellent client service
  • Host weekly Pipeline & Pacing meetings with Sales Partners to align on upcoming launches and active campaign performance
  • Build Strategic Media Plans and contribute to RFP responses around campaign packaging, pricing, targeting, etc.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on the production of custom creative assets
  • Collaborate with Account Managers in other regions to share learnings and best practices
  • Work closely with Campaign Management and Ad Operations for flawless order implementation and technical troubleshooting
  • Responsible for overseeing the delivery performance of Ad Campaigns and partnering with clients on necessary campaign optimization tactics
  • Provide clients with necessary campaign performance including post-campaign wrap reports
  • Ability to navigate campaign escalations and contribute to long-term solutions to prevent similar issues in the future
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Netflix Ad products, sponsorship offerings, targeting capabilities and ad policies.
  • Contribute to monthly billing & invoicing process with clients and finance team
  • Establish strong working relationships with client and agency partners, leaning into the sales strategy of the market or the book of business

We’re Looking for:

  • Extensive experience in Account Management and/or Sales Planning across both offline media (e.g., TV, sponsorships, live events) and digital advertising platforms, with a strong focus on video advertising
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage directly with clients, navigate challenges, and drive long-term solutions through clear and effective communication
  • Experience working in Sales Operation systems (CRM, OMS, Ad Servers)
  • Strong knowledge of digital media sales and marketplaces, including Direct IO, Programmatic Guaranteed, and PMP advertising
  • Proven track record in advertiser retention and growth, with expertise in strategic account planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience engaging with senior-level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to make data digestible and actionable for cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Familiarity with advertising research and verification vendors such as Nielsen, ComScore, Moat, IAS, DoubleVerify, Kantar, etc.
  • Fluency in Japanese, with the ability to communicate effectively in English for internal collaboration
