Warner Bros. Games San Diego is creating the next generation of high quality, cross-platform games that bring iconic and beloved characters to life. As a Senior Designer, Systems, you will design compelling game systems, and mechanics and work with a team of engineers, artists, UX designers, producers and product managers to see their implementation. Cooperation, collaboration and creativity are key in this role.

The Daily

• Work with the Design Manager and creative stakeholders to develop game systems and mechanics appropriate to a game’s IP and creative vision.

• Create game design documents that communicate concepts and define requirements to other team members across different disciplines.

• Balance game mechanics for a free-to-play cross platform competitive online game.

• Tune and maintain economy in a live free-to-play game.

The Essentials

• 5+ years experience making successful games, especially competitive online titles.

• University degree or equivalent work experience.

• Background in game design, computer science or equivalent is a plus.

• Deep understanding of the F2P market.

• Familiarity with Unreal preferred. 

• Strong math and analytic skills.

• Excellent spreadsheet skills and familiarity with Excel or equivalent.

• Good writing and design documentation skills.

• Good communication and presentation skills and familiarity with Powerpoint/Google Slides or equivalent presentation software.

• Ability to cast Time Stop or other means of time/space disruption is a plus.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $84,123.00 - $156,228.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
